I enjoyed the work itself and appreciated the opportunity to gain experience, which is why it is disappointing that my employment ended the way it did. One of the biggest issues I experienced was the lack of structured training and communication. When I first started, I spent much of my first week sitting at my desk with little direction and no clear training plan. I was repeatedly told that I would be trained, yet there was no consistent onboarding process. Eventually, I had to ask questions and seek out guidance myself because I genuinely wanted to learn and succeed in my role. Throughout my time with the company, I made an effort to ask questions, improve, and learn new responsibilities. However, expectations often felt unclear. There were times when tasks were brought up as though I should already know how to complete them despite never being formally trained on them. It was frustrating to be expected to perform work that had not been properly explained or demonstrated. I frequently sought guidance and asked questions whenever I needed clarification. Because my access to company systems was revoked before my termination, I no longer have access to the communications that documented many of those interactions. My biggest disappointment was the way my termination was handled. After raising a workplace concern and attempting to have a conversation about it, I was told there would be a follow-up meeting after the holiday weekend. Instead, my access to company systems was removed, and I was later informed that my employment was ending. I was never given what I felt was a meaningful opportunity to fully explain my perspective before the decision was made. What makes the experience especially disappointing is that I was committed to doing my job and improving. Even during difficult personal circumstances, I continued showing up to work and doing my best. If there were concerns about my performance, I believe those concerns should have been communicated clearly, directly, and consistently while I was still employed so that I would have had a fair opportunity to address them. Employees deserve proper training, clear expectations, professional communication, and the opportunity to be heard before major decisions are made. Unfortunately, my experience left me feeling unheard, unsupported, and undervalued. While I appreciated the work itself and the experience I gained, the lack of transparency and the way my employment ended ultimately overshadowed the positive aspects of the job.
