My 91 year old mother-in-law has lived at Highland Estates for six and a half years. She loves it there and my wife and I are at ease knowing she is happy and safe there. The staff are very helpful and they care a lot for the residents. There are plenty of activities to keep my mother-in-law busy. They recently completed a large renovation and the facility is nice and fresh and with a bright and airy vibe.

Moving into Highland estate, was the first time I have ever lived in an independent living facility. The one thing that I love most here is all the friends I’ve made. They welcomed me very kindly, and it was appreciated. One of the other things I like is working with Maureen, our activity director. She is constantly coming up with new ideas for things for us to do and places to go, like new restaurants in the area, going to the movies, the aquarium. I also like some of the things that we do here such as bingo, canasta, Domino’s Mexican train. I also have a chance to meet my friends and new people at the happy hour. They have once a week. Some of the other shining stars is Kevin our bus driver who has a personality that won’t quit. In the main office, Rene and Renata keep things organized and making sure that most of our needs are worked on. JP, our maintenance manager, along with his staff of housekeepers make sure everything is running and kept up and clean. We have a new chef Brian who’s been here now a couple of months and has brought in great ideas for a new entrées for us to have. I couldn’t believe it but the other day we even had bananas foster for dessert.
