This is the WORST place anyone can leave a love one to be taken care of by the staff of this facility. The night staff is the most terrible of them all. My love one needed assistance with a diaper change and a night staff said to her get up and walk…which she can not walk, another day needed a diaper change again and another staff member said you called too many times already you have to wait, they have an attitude when asking information about the patient……UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!

If I can give this place no stars I will. This place needs better nurses and staff. My mother was in this facility for about 7 months the very first night my mom got here the nurses were super nice . After they all had nasty attitudes they had no manners whatsoever. My mom got six’s kids and all her six kids would do the job these nurse should’ve been doing. They never wanted to change my mother’s wet diapers they always had an excuse for it , for suction they would take an hour or more . They even teach my youngest sister how to do suction just so my mom won’t keep ringing the bell. They will always ignore the bell every time my mom would ring it . And there is soo much more to say about this place . But this place right here DONT do there job right. They don’t care about there patients here. May my mother rest in peace I will miss her dearly 😞❤️

This place looks presentable from outside however horrible staff. The staff is always at lunch or in meetings. The patients rooms always have a foul smell indicating the patients are not being clean in a timely manner. Doctors , Nurses and CNA's are not Professional instead they act on being Personal! Please do not have your love ones come to this Facility .

My experience in the Henry J. Carter Hospital and nursing home was one that traumatized me for the rest of my life. This place has incredibly big administrative failures that jeopardize the well-being of anyone who is in this institution. Many times, I felt I was in a chamber of horrors. I was left five hours dirty, sitting in my own feces, I was left for over four hours waiting for someone to feed me because I am disabled and it was impossible for me to do so on my own. My oxygen machine would go off and sometimes it would take as long as 35 minutes for a nurse to come and give me help with the oxygen I needed. The hospital is extremely understaffed, actually they are working on their minimum staff, most of the time one nurse and one CNA per floor on an average of 32 patients per floor. These people are exhausted, cranky and many become abusive. I also wish readers to be aware that Nurse Hunter was sadistic and cruel. Miss Matthew was uncaring and mean. If you love somebody do not put them in this institution. This is not a hospital; this is not a nursing home. This is a cold-hearted business run by a merciless administration that I'm certain is being very well paid but don't care at all for the good of the patients. Stay away from this place. Any complaints directed to the patient relations department; will be a waste of time. They are incapable of fixing the failures of a money driven administration that runs this nightmarish poor excuse of a medical institution. If anybody is interested in taking legal action against this hospital/ nursing home, please contact me. This place should be closed.

I would never recommend this place to anyone with a loved one in any condition. My family member was admitted to the 4th floor ventilator unit to get weaned off, and from the start, it was a nightmare. The nurses were rude, dismissive, and completely unapproachable. Any time I tried to ask a question or get clarification from a doctor, it felt like I was being scolded just for wanting to understand what was going on. There was no compassion, no communication, and zero sense of urgency unless you were someone they personally liked. They rarely checked in on patients, and if you alerted them that a patient needed to be changed or was visibly uncomfortable, they’d act like you were bothering them. Sometimes they wouldn’t come back for two hours — and if a family member tried to step in and help, they’d get an attitude about that too. It felt like basic human dignity was optional there. One of the most heartbreaking things was when my loved one had an issue with his eye, and the staff downplayed it like it was no big deal. They told me it wasn’t important — until it became serious and developed into a corneal ulcer. We ended up transferring him to another hospital, and that’s when everything changed. At the new hospital, his care actually improved. The staff communicated with us. His medical condition got better. And — despite what Henry J. Carter claimed — he was successfully weaned off the ventilator within a week. At Carter, they told us it would take months. Now I truly believe that they intentionally stretch out care just to continue billing Medicaid and insurance. It’s disgusting. This place doesn’t treat patients like people — they treat them like cases. If you love someone and want them to be seen, heard, and actually cared for, please don’t bring them here.
