My brother in law has been a resident here for the last three years. I had hope when they " changed "management that things would be better. They were for a minute. The place always smells of urine. The residents appear to be desperate for attention and interaction. On one visit, the nurse said "we are going to clean him up" Which took about 20 min. It left me with the question " if we hadn't come in were you going to?" He had bed sores to the bone, multiple urinary tract infections. I will grant that he may not have wanted to be moved, but when does health over ride request? We asked for the info to contact his dr and were told they could not give that out. When we asked about his condition, the nurse wasn't really sure this was the first time seeing him. When trying to call, rarely able to have someone answer the phone. This is not my first dealing with a care center. I have never known the center not to have a care plan meeting with the designated family person. We had one. I could go on but you get the gist. Thank God hospice became involved and he passed rather quickly.

I'm still here healing. And they are doing an ok job helping us. They can do so much better. What's is up with this HIPPA law when they don't follow it. By the way the picture of the library is wrong because there's no couches in the library. And the church here, they turned into a storage room for there crap. And I don't like it because I can't even go in there and pray. What you should have done was transfer the residents that you do have in the heights post acute to another one and tare the heights down. and started over.

The food absolutely sucks! The only saving grace is I can keep food in a mini fridge/freezer. But purchasing my own food while staying here, microwaveable food, is too expensive. Do not stay here. I don’t get my meds when I am supposed to and it’s depressing as Hell! Glad I’m only temporary

Our grandfather experienced significant neglect while residing at this nursing home, including being taken off prescribed medication without the knowledge or consent of his family. Proper medical oversight, communication, and standards of care were not maintained, placing his health and well-being at serious risk. Due to ongoing concerns regarding his safety and the facility’s failure to provide appropriate care, our family made the decision to remove him and transfer him to another facility. These circumstances indicate serious deficiencies in resident care and administration. This matter warrants immediate review, and we respectfully request that the appropriate state authorities conduct a thorough investigation to ensure accountability and to prevent similar harm to other residents.

This nursing home should be shut down. What happens inside these walls is not “care” — it is neglect, plain and simple. The most unforgivable failure is that patients are taken off their prescribed medications without consent, without explanation, and without involving families or legal decision-makers. This is dangerous, unethical, and inexcusable. Residents come here trusting that their doctors’ orders will be followed. Instead, medications are withheld or discontinued as if they are optional. These are not minor prescriptions — these are life-sustaining medications that keep patients stable, alert, and functioning. When those medications are suddenly stopped, residents decline rapidly. The change is heartbreaking and terrifying to witness. Families watch their loved ones go from talking, eating, and recognizing people… to becoming confused, weak, unresponsive, or hospitalized. And when families ask why, they are met with silence, excuses, or outright denial. No one takes responsibility. No one provides answers. No one acts with urgency. Stopping medication without consent is not a “mistake.” It is a violation of trust. It strips patients of their dignity and families of their peace. It causes unnecessary suffering that could have been completely prevented by simply doing the job they are paid and licensed to do. The emotional toll this takes on families is devastating. You leave each visit feeling helpless, angry, and terrified of what condition your loved one will be in next time. No family should have to fear that a nursing home is actively making their loved one worse. Management either ignores what is happening or allows it to continue. Either way, the result is the same: patients are harmed. This is not a staffing issue or a paperwork error — it is systemic neglect. If you are considering this facility, do not walk away — run. Ask detailed questions about medication management, demand written confirmation, and monitor everything yourself if you have no other choice. State regulators need to investigate this facility immediately. Vulnerable residents deserve protection, not silence. What is happening here is dangerous, unethical, and should never be allowed to continue.
