My loved one does not get to eat if he doesn't eat what they make. No menus, no meal options and the water is left in hallway in a pitcher if they want a drink. They eat in their room or a table facing the wall in the hallway. Room and hallways smell like urine or feces. No social interaction, no music and no activities. The aides (who are not trained for dementia patients) sit in hallway either on their phones, laying on loveseat or watching TV. Seen it all. When state comes in the D.O.N makes everything seem so perfect. Not enough staff so an aide spends the night to sleep and gets paid for it and her room has bed bugs. State should be ashamed of themselves. No one deserves to live like this. If you love your loved one DO NOT PLACE THEM HERE. We did not place our loved one here, the guardian did. Such a sad, depressing place. Should be closed down or new management.

This is the worst place in Johnstown. If u have any love for your loved ones I’m begging you not to take them here!!!!! They got my mom for 1201.00 that the said they would refund cause I had my mom packed and out of there in 23 hours. She fell and smashed her phone. Took a pic of the broken chair that they have for them to sit on. I have videos of the med cart left in the open. You are never able to find anyone that works there. They should be ashamed of the food they feed them . They have no activities. They are not allowed to sit with anyone to talk. They put a very good front when you come to visit. Oh and this place is suppose to specialize in dementia and Alzheimer’s and the door are never locked. I have video of that also. Very sad that there are places like this still running. And PA do better have a law that a personal care facility has to have nurses 24/7. Shame on you harmany house!!! Shame on you Neal and Sheila Harrison for allowing this!!!! Do better!!!! I have definitely made calls!!!

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!!!! My mother was quickly placed by her husband. When we arrived there you couldn’t even find a person to talk to. Three staff members for the entire building. No drinks or activities just meals. The rooms are filthy. There’s nothing on the walls, no television, no pictures, no door signs and the bathroom is unlabeled down the hall and not supervised by anyone. They were filled with feces. There’s no showers, towels, wash clothes or even soap. My mother needed a shower horribly and they told me, “just on Wednesdays”. She would have an infection by then. They also required a $1000 non refundable deposit on top of the payment and Id love to know what that is used for because all the furniture is torn and dirty. We managed to leave with my mother and I feel so sorry for the other people who had to continue staying there. It’s the saddest thing I’ve ever seen and hope the state closes them down once I have them investigated.

I am within this facility several times a week. I have NEVER seen any abuse by staff. I have also fed the patients that I have and their and their meals seemed good to me. I also interact with the aides that are there and they seem to like what they are doing. They do care for the residents. I have never had any issues with staff. They are there for the residents. I was reading the other posts about this place and it seems that there are some disgruntled former employees. Someone that needs to hide behind an alias name and not be able to stand up and be a man/woman. It is sad that someone would deliberately trash a business for their own personal gain.

Place is ridiculous, nurses don’t have a care in the world for the residents besides maybe like 2. Watched nurses hit the residents on almost a daily basis. They have a resident who smokes inside the building with others around, they will spill to you that they will get a home cooked meal but it’s all pre made food from a truck. 100% administration plays favorites with specific residents, and the building is literally falling apart but they won’t show you that. Some how some way they make it through state inspection which is very very hard to believe. The only motive this place has is to make money, but hey if you’re looking to let the ones you love come here to finish out their life expect them to be treated like a doormat. Update: Also if all cameras were recording in the building then it would show obvious elder abuse downstairs, most of the time. Imagine if video got out of nurses hitting residents or pulling on there arms to hard and better yet voice recording. The screaming you’d here from the nurses at the residents is uncalled for, as a owner you must not know what goes on in your own building and frankly it’s disturbing. State may come in but staff does lie and when things are done wrong in touchstone and they go to the resident that it happened to, more than likely they don’t remember it. Nurses don’t do it to the residents on the first or second floor but they know they can get away with it in the basement. Bottom line is those residents downstairs need the most loving care with the up most respect because they simply deserve it. They deserve to be treated like a actual human being, not like someone who’s there to just die. You know how heart breaking it is to hear a nurse say man I wish this one would just go like that’s incredibly messed up. That’s a human life right there and they just get treated like scum. I do not support the home one bit and for good reason. Update #2: owners tried to get my review taken down because they are claiming it’s false or wrong, unfortunately they just don’t want the general public to see the truth for what it is. These aren’t false claims they are 100% accurate, if me myself was able to share videos of nurses hitting residents or mistreating them with psychological abuse I would. If that happened then it would show the truths of this place. I for one would never in my life put a loved one in this home, it is a abomination of a place and a very negative environment. Trust me as a local guide that this place has been reported and the nurses have openly lied to the state when they come in, plus they only go to the residents down in touchstone because that’s where it all happens. The place is not what they make it appear. Thank you and that is my 100% honest review on harmony house.
