I’ve been in nursing for 34 years and I have seen many rehabilitation/skilled nursing facilities and worked at many. I can say without reservation, that every aspect of my care here has been superior. The facility itself is clean, contemporary and well maintained. The staff is competent, compassionate, knowledgeable and available. I was especially pleased at the medical follow up, and the bedside care from the nurses. The rehab therapists came to my room the morning after my arrival, introduced themselves and and brought me to the “gym”, a beautiful bright room and I began my rehabilitation right away. Our spirits have a lot to do with our successful recovery, and the beautiful wooded setting where Greenwood House is located is a boost , and positive staff contribute to our spirits and the meals here are great , delicious with many choices and generous portions…. I am so grateful to have had my rehabilitation guided by the team at Greenwood House

My mother was a resident of Greenwood House for several years and recently passed away from natural causes at the age of 93. During that time, I had the opportunity to get to know many of the staff of Greenwood House and observe the care that she received. I am happy to say that Greenwood House provided a warm, caring, and pleasant experience for my mother that far exceeded my expectations. I'd first like to point out that the medical care was excellent. The medical director, Dr Scott Kolander MD, is a seasoned professional who truly cares about his patients. He took the time to get to know my mother and ensured that her health issues were properly addressed without delay. He also gave my mother great comfort in knowing that her doctor knew her not only as a patient but as a person as well. This was not an easy task because my mother had several health issues and could at times be a difficult patient. The nursing staff was equally impressive. Chrissie Bermudez is not only a superb nurse, she also took the time to ensure my mother participated in the many activities that Greenwood House provides to their residents. In a way, she took on the role of a coach and cheerleader to ensure that my mother enjoyed the daily pleasures that lead to enjoying a happy life. I'd be remiss by not also pointing out that when my mother refused to take her medicine, Chrissie was crafty and always found a way to ensure that my mother took her medication. One of the things that make Greenwood house unique is how the staff make the residents feel special. One example of this was when my mother would walk or go on her wheelchair to activities or to the cafeteria. On many, many occasions, I would hear a chorus of warm greetings from the staff to my mother that one would normally hear only when you saw old friends. This may sound like a small thing but it meant the world to my mother. I'd be willing to bet that this type of friendliness is not as common in other facilities as it is in Greenwood House. In summary, I enthusiastically recommend Greenwood House as a wonderful place to the care for your loved ones.

Over the years I have had many friends who were at Greenwood House to receive rehabilitation services. I visited them during their stay and was impressed by the great work of the Rehabilitation Unit. I highly recommend Greenwood House, especially those needing professional and experienced Physical Therapists!

My mother spent time in Rehabilitation and later 2 years in the Long Term Care area. My GP and several friends had recommended Greenwood House. The doctors, specifically Dr. Kevin McGuigan (Medical Director for Rehabilitation) provided amazing care and listened to all our concerns during her Rehab stage. The nurses and CNAs were attentive and very kind to my Mom and family members. Activity team specifically Jean Stroud, former Activities Director worked well with her staff and residents to provide an array of fun and educational events. So many staff members - Cleaning, Maintenance, Laundry, Cafeteria, Nutrition, Receptionists & PT - made my Mom and I feel like family. Just some of my thoughts - Management staff could be more visible during the day to residents & family. I learned more about them through their quarterly Publication. During the quick transition from Rehab to LTC, GWH Social Services could have been more empathetic to our family's intense new situation by discussing LTC options. If interested in Medicaid, the facility does not work with you to complete the application. Best to work with a 3rd party as this process can be daunting. Regardless, you will have a lot of work to do on your own related to financial records.

Since September of 2024, our mom, Ann, has had the pleasure of being a resident at the Abrams Apartments (Greenwood House) in Ewing, New Jersey. After a brief stay at another assisted living facility, and after doing much research, my sisters and I decided that Abrams Apartments was the right choice for mom. Countless friends had told us how wonderful their own experiences were. And boy were they all right. From the first day, she was welcomed by every resident and every associate. The transition was so well handled by David and Andrea that we were truly astonished. They made us all feel like family…. and to this day, that has been the case. The associates who help with some routine tasks for our mom, like laundry, meals, showering and games, are all wonderful people. Wonderful. We can’t possibly say enough about them all. It is now over a year that mom has been living at Abrams. Every time I ask her how she feels about her experience there, her words are the same… “ I love it here and everyone is so nice.” What more could we possibly ask for. Thank you, Abrams Apartments.! Thank you so much. With great appreciation, Lorraine, Carolyn and Robert
