About Greenfield Senior Living Of Perkiomen Valley

Greenfield Senior Living of Perkiomen Valley is a 90-bed assisted living community in Schwenksville, Pennsylvania.

Family experiences at Greenfield are mixed and inconsistent. Some families report positive interactions with caring staff members and appreciate the facility's physical appearance. However, the majority of reviews highlight serious operational concerns: long response times to resident calls for assistance (sometimes over an hour), staffing shortages and frequent turnover among administrators and care workers, communication breakdowns with family members regarding urgent matters, and documented issues with food availability and quality. One family noted they only learned about a power and heat loss on Christmas Eve after the fact, having never been contacted by the facility. Security concerns have also been raised, with reports that individuals can enter the building without being stopped.

Concerns about the memory care unit appear particularly acute, with families describing inadequate supervision and assistance for vulnerable residents. My Mom received minimal care except for Beth. Think twice... management has changed and memory care is understaffed.i removed my Mom when I was told that my Mom threw herself out of her wheelchair. . Not even possible. She couldn't move with out assistance..I m sorry my Mom was ever.on.3 Rd floor except for Beth She cared .it was.obvious

We moved my mother out of Greenfield due to many concerns. Staff and administrators were leaving constantly, there were shortages of food in the cafeteria and they lost her clothing that was laundered twice. She would ring for an aide and it would take over an hour for someone to come. The worst was the Christmas Eve they lost power and heat and never even contacted us!!! We only learned that she had been parked in front of a fireplace for hours because she knew how to use a cell phone. The roof is constantly leaking and she had a bucket outside her room to collect water for months. As a result she had to deal with bugs constantly in her room. Complaints went without answer as it is very hard to get anyone to reply thru email or on the phone. Definitely would not recommend this facility at all.

The biggest issue I've had so far with Greenfield Senior Living is a lack of communication between staff and myself (daughter of one of the residents). My voicemails are rarely returned and emails are sometimes returned, but usually after several days or a week, if at all. I understand that this facility is likely understaffed, but it is important for family members to be able to reach a staff member to inquire about their loved one and/or provide information to the staff about them. Items have also gone missing from my mother’s room (I do know it’s tricky in a Memory Care setting in terms of residents moving their items around) but several occasions have come to mind which irritate me. I have also had a few instances where I’ve requested that the staff help to get my mother ready in time for Dr appts (I’ve left voicemails the day before and also spoke to staff onsite to give notice about the appt) and I’ve shown up on time and my mother is nowhere near ready to leave the building, thus making us late for the appt. I would recommend the Personal Care section of this facility but not the Memory Care section.

My mom moved in 3 years ago at first we were happy. Then the present executive director took over since then things have gone down hill. I really believe that the staff starting at the top are not interested in running a nursing home. Security is the worst. You can walk in off the street and never be stopped this includes in the middle of the night. The food is horrible basically they heat up frozen meals maintenance does not know a screwdriver from a hammer. And don’t even get me started about corporate they do not care and will never call you back. I am moving my mom out to a nice secure home. My advice is do not put your loved ones in this dump.

Greenfield is a beautiful place! Their staff is very caring. I just wish they were closer to our desired location. But I can’t say enough good things about them. Stephanie, one of the administrators at Greenfield spent so much time with me helping to make good decisions for my mother. Frankly this was something she didn’t have to do, but went out of her way to help. It’s good to know people like Stephanie are there to help with our loved ones! Thank you and all the best.
