Grand Traverse Pavilions

Grand Traverse Pavilions is a senior living community in Traverse City, Michigan, offering skilled nursing care, assisted living, and independent living services. The community spans 28 acres and serves more than 200 residents, providing a continuum of care for the region's aging population.

Grand Traverse Medical Care operates 24-hour skilled nursing services for long-term care residents in private and semi-private suites with handicap-accessible showers, courtyard views, and decorated common areas. The Cottages of Grand Traverse Pavilions offer independence and assisted living in restored Victorian, Queen Anne, and Italianate homes—three residences named Evergreen, Hawthorn, and Willow—featuring private suites, studios, and one-bedroom apartments with 12-foot ceilings, wood floors, and views of the surrounding grounds and arboretum.

The community operates a state-of-the-art Wellness Center using a holistic approach to client-centered care. Therapeutic services include physical, occupational, speech, recreational, and aquatic therapies, along with restorative nursing and health and fitness programs. Overnight respite care is available for caregivers needing temporary support due to work, medical appointments, or personal needs.

Owned by Grand Traverse County and operated by the County Department of Health and Human Services Board, the Pavilions has been fiscally self-sufficient for over two decades and provided more than $4.5 million in benevolent care last year. The 28-acre campus blends 19th-century architecture with modern accommodations and amenities, rooted in history dating back to the early 20th century.
