I am grateful every single day for the staff, facilities, and community at Cordia at the Grand Traverse Commons. My mother has lived there for about a year, and it has truly proven to be an excellent fit. She has just the right level of support for her daily living needs, along with a wonderful network of friends and a calendar full of activities she genuinely enjoys. She sings in the choir, takes exercise classes, and rides her electric cart down to the Mercado to shop or check out the latest at the Farmers’ Market.
She often hosts friends and family in the restaurant or pub, warm, welcoming spaces that make every day feel both social and special. Her apartment is beautiful—and, in a small miracle, just around the corner from my mother-in-law, who moved to Cordia last fall. It’s such a joy to see them both thriving.
Over the last several years, declining mobility had robbed my mom of much of her agency and confidence, and that’s one of the things that I am so happy to see returned to her. She’s booking her own appointments, arranging her transportation through Cordia, and making plans with friends and family.
Every staff member knows my mother by name and understands her preferences. She is safe, supported, and cared for with professionalism, patience, and genuine warmth. Cordia has given her renewed independence—and given our family peace of mind knowing she is so well cared for.

Cordia is the best possible place I could ever imagine living. My children have checked out places near where they live, and there’s no comparison. Food is suburb, but the kind thoughtful staff is what makes it great.. There’s a lot to do here, many interesting activities. Art, theater, music, book groups, and author readings.

Living at Cordia ia like living in a 5 star hotel with a Road Scholar program. The activities are not intended to "just keep you busy" (i.e., there is no bingo). The numerous programs are designed to challenge you physically, emotionally and intellectually. And the dining menu is first class with a very good wine list.

Absolutely nothing tops Cordia of Grand Traverse! From the gorgeous buildings that are beautifully maintained, the outstanding apartments, the full service
Amenities , Wellness staff , and truly amazing food! The professional Staff is the true heart of Cordia. Kindness , respect and honest caring above and beyond anything I’ve ever witnessed. Cordia IS Home.

Deeply inhospitable, negative atmosphere. Don't visit if you're uncomfortable with rude staff and rude residents.
