My parents moved to the Grand only months before my dad passed. Thus, my mom had a built in community of supportive new friends who asked how she was doing, people to share a meal with, lots of activities, including ways to be cared for and opportunities to give back.

One distinctive we noted was that none of the apartments are terribly far from the dining room and activities. Her apartment is bright, spacious and beautiful. She enjoys fruit and salad every day with her meals...and sometimes happy hour. The residents are down to earth and friendly. The staff are so kind and helpful. She is safe, happy, active -- and known and loved by the staff and other residents. She enjoys her independence but we are glad there can be more help if needed. For my dad we were able to quickly access services he needed in his last weeks.
