Since 2024, I have observed a decline in the quality of care at Grace. The facility appears to prioritize financial concerns over resident well-being, which is reflected in several ongoing issues. These include recurring bed bug infestations, poorly prepared food, and a heating system that does not allow residents to control room temperatures during certain times of the year. There have also been instances of staff making inappropriate remarks to residents and their families, as well as frequent medication errors, such as lost medications, unfilled prescriptions, and unauthorized changes to prescriptions. Communication lapses have occurred, including staff failing to send test results to the correct physician and being unable to confirm my mother's residency to the ombudsman. Billing practices have also been unclear, with requests for full-month payments rather than prorated charges. Additionally, my mother has experienced a lack of transparency regarding her health information, unresponsiveness from the Director of Nursing, and staff not following physician orders for meals and medications. For example, her gabapentin dosage was recorded incorrectly, prescribed eye drops were not administered, and a daily stool softener was incorrectly listed as 'as needed,' resulting in a hospitalization for colitis. Rapid and frequent changes to her depression and anxiety medications in 2024-2025 also led to severe withdrawal symptoms. These concerns have significantly impacted my mother's health and well-being.

I had no idea, until a loved one needed to go into "skilled" nursing care, how obscene the amount charged is. I'm unable to fathom what would justify the cost of nearly $9000/month? And that's with sharing a room with another person, not even having the side with the window? Why isn't this industry regulated to where this unethical, immoral robbery isn't allowed? I'm absolutely disgusted by this, not to mention this is supposedly a Christian business. No, it's not, they're just using Christ's name to profit. Utterly appalling. If I can determine any way to try to change this industry of theft from the vulnerable, and that's absolutely what it is, I will.

Grace Village Retirement Community is truly a gem! From the moment I arrived, I was struck by how beautiful and well-maintained the entire campus is — peaceful walking paths, lovely landscaping, and welcoming common areas that immediately make you feel at home. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Everyone I encountered had a warm smile and was eager to assist. A special shoutout to Jessica, the marketer who gave me the tour — she was fantastic! Jessica was knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely passionate about the community. She answered all of my questions and made me feel completely at ease. You can tell she truly cares about the residents and believes in the mission of Grace Village.
