As hard as it was to move mom After her surgery, Grace Memory Care provided us with the necessary help and care we needed. The staff were very caring and compassionate. The facility was always clean as well as Her room. We had excellent professional advice in addition. During this difficult time of transition, knowing you’re in good hands is critical which Grace provides.

Overall, they have taken good care of my family member. There were a few instances where we felt simple things were being neglected (make sure she had tissues, brushes her teeth, etc), but conversation with the new administrator took care of that pretty quickly. The former administrator (now long gone) was pretty absent, and we were glad of the change to the new one. I will concur with another reviewer that things go missing. But other things magically appear. Important you go into memory care facilities with eyes wide open and expectations set (no valuables, or just be aware that what is left laying around may disappear, not by bad intent...some residents just don't know who owns what, or think things are their own, etc). Facility staff is friendly and caring. They inform promptly of any issues and help with the needed queues she needed. We are getting set to move her to the new facility in Boise/State Street (closer to our home) and we hope things go as well!

My mom entered Grace Assisted Living Memory Unit at 1946 N Lakes Place, Meridian ID in winter or 2013. She hated her new residence but staff seemed caring and doing their best to ease her anxiety. Very soon, things began to disappear (i.e. eye glasses, dental partial plate, personal hygiene items). They were never recovered. High staff turnover became apparent and, at times, had an adverse effect on mom's care. More than once, my sisters and/or I found mom's clothing soaked with urine, a clear indication that her toileting had been neglected. One time, even the cushioned chair she was sitting in was wet with urine. Another time, we found the sheets underneath a neatly made up bed wet with urine. With these events, my sisters and/or I took it upon ourselves to change and clean up our mom. I would be remiss to not give credit to a few loyal and caring staff who were genuinely devoted to mom's welfare and who became our go-to sources of information when asked questions about mom's condition. They are underpaid and overworked. Administration, on the other hand, while open to questions and complaints, seemed unable to enact or follow through with change. Their response to family concerns for mom's needs became cold and uncaring. In the two months prior to mom's passing on 10/02/17, her condition deteriorating, it became clear admin and nursing wanted her removed from their facility. In the end, it was family persistence and Hospice intervention that allowed mom to die peacefully, not hooked up to tubes in some hospital bed but quietly in her own surroundings (at Grace). To date, not a note of condolence or recognition from administration that mom meant anything to them other than a stream of monthly income for her residence in their facility.

The woman (Linda Hines ) that owns Grace Assisted Living facilities has a very poor name in the community!!! She does not treat her hardworking care givers with respect. The admin (24 y/o) at the Meridian complex seems to be her puppet with little to no regard to the residents and the staff! Turnover in this industry is high but at GAL it really tops out. The high turnover has surly been a factor in some residents well being and cause for some accidents. We've had our family member at the facility for over two years. If our loved one was capable of moving we would consider it. What torques us the most is she fly's the Christian banner and her character and business ethics seem contrary. The facility stinks and hasn't had the carpets cleaned since we've been there. It looks cozy but once you've been around awhile you can see the dysfunction of this business. Ever so sad for those that live and work there. We can say there have been some VERY good care givers over time but they are treated so poorly they do not last.
