It appears Grace violates this by passing her fines on to residents. Down to the .75 and all. • Administrative Fines: Class I violations, which are the most severe, can result in fines of $5,000–$10,000 against the facility. These are penalties for non-compliance and are the sole responsibility of the facility. She has refused to provide the invoice or bill for this transaction that went straight to her business. If I receive an itemized bill for invoice #100 I will remove this review.

Immediate Life-Safety Danger I am posting this so families understand the seriousness of what occurred here. The State of Florida found this facility in a Class I violation, the most severe category, meaning conditions existed that posed an immediate and serious threat to resident health and safety. In this case, a resident’s bedroom door was locked, confining him inside the room. At the same time, the maintenance person had rigged/screwed the window in a way that prevented it from being opened. If there had been a fire, that resident would have been trapped inside the room with no way to escape. Let that sink in — locked inside a bedroom, with no functioning window exit. Exterior doors were also locked, restricting residents from freely exiting the building. This raises serious concerns about fire safety, emergency preparedness, and basic resident rights. Instead of taking responsibility for these dangerous conditions, the owner reportedly blamed a disabled young resident. Class I violations are not minor paperwork issues. They involve conditions that can seriously harm or kill residents. Families deserve transparency. Before placing a loved one here, I strongly urge you to review the official Florida inspection findings and understand exactly what occurred. Residents in assisted living are vulnerable. They deserve protection — not confinement.

Grace personally came to assess our family needs for my father-in-law. Grace was so compassionate and wanting to learn exactly what our family needed to assist my father-in-law. We toured her beautiful facility in Port Charlotte and her staff member Karen was so helpful in showing us everything the facility has to offer, including a beautiful swimming pool and lovely outside terrace. Thank you again Grace for all of you caregiving abilities. Grace was so accommodating to him. I want to post a positive review after everything Grace and Karen have done for our family. Grace is truly an angel and a true believer in our lord and savior. We will truly miss you! Mark and Sherrie Loehndorf

During the several months my mother lived at Grace Assisted Living last year, Grace and her staff did all they could to provide her with comfort and care. If there was something my mother needed, Grace would make an effort to provide it. Her background as a Registered Nurse was a big plus for me (as was her facility not being in a designated flood zone), and it was evident that she understood the transitions my mother was experiencing with Dementia. Even months after my mother returned home to live with me, Grace was in touch on a regular basis, checking in to see how she was faring. Grace is a go-getter, and strives to be at the top of her game, always busy keeping compliant with the many laws and procedures by which a six-bed facility such as hers must abide. Each of her caregivers was kind and supportive of my mother, interacting with her in their own style, whether it was was singing hymns to her, or getting her motivated to accomplish the more challenging tasks at hand. Anne, her longtime steady caregiver is an angel—loving, kind, and nurturing—and always impeccably dressed in cheerful attire. Oftentimes, Caribbean fare was prepared and served, which provided a nice spin on mealtime. Grace Assisted Living is very much a home-like atmosphere—not the feel of a larger, more socially-oriented group with games and activities. Perhaps adding a few upcoming activities on a posted calendar to look forward to would be nice—like some fun, all-inclusive game or way of getting to know each other better, or dinner outside by the pool sometimes, to keep things fresh and fun. Nevertheless, I am grateful to Grace and her staff for the comfort and care provided to my mother during her residence there.

Grace Assisted Living is a beautiful facility that feels just like a home. It even has a pool! The owner is a nurse, and she takes pride in making sure that the facility is fully up to speed with all regulations. I wish my mom was still here, because I would love to have her at Grace Assisted Living!
