I'm still not well enough to even speak about my experience with this place. Please don't bring your loved ones here. Do your research. It's not a rehabilitation center. If so they should not be taking anyone that they believe cant be rehabilitate. Cause they will not do anything extra outside their normal. Your loved one will be left alone to only get worse. St Croix hospice does more for their patients inside good shepherds facilities than their own nurses would. They do not update hospital discharge papers to all staff. Which is very vital to your loved ones stay there. I'll add to this once I have better mental health care... the guilt i carry having her be there is very heavy.

My mom is in the memory care wing. Always get great customer service when we ask staff questions about my mom. I feel like her care is good. The only thing I would recommend is laundering the residents blankets more, the ones that are draped on their laps during the days, there is often food smeared on their blankets, and the wheelchairs could be cleaned up as well. I often see food all over the wheelchairs when I am there. Otherwise, pretty good care!

I cannot say enough about the Good Shepherd Community overall! My mother-in-law and father-in-law started in apartments for a year and then moved to the long-term care. They've been married for 60 years and just want, I would argue NEED, to be together. The staff recognized the importance of this and accepted them both into the nursing home at the same time. There weren't any double rooms available so they gave my father-in-law the single and my mother-in-law is sharing a double with another resident (across the hall) already there. They spend all of their time together in my father-in-law's single room and are able to live a life TOGETHER which is all they want. The staff there TRULY loves them and there's nothing more we could ask for. It is so evident how everyone treats them with respect and love. And ultimately their precious love as a couple is being honored. It brings me to tears to see how sweet they are at 87 and 89 years old and huge props to all the staff for honoring them and their love.
