Don't be fooled by their salespeople. The care described and the care received are worlds apart. And no reputable business would have so many ways to keep money they didn't earn in every part of their service agreement. (They keep your money if you cancel in the first 30 days no matter how disappointed you are in their poor service.) I'm sorry I didn't insist on reviewing the agreement before my parents signed; they're getting ripped off for what they're actually receiving (someone to sit on the couch and not change my mother's diaper.) Do yourself a favor and keep looking. Golden Years staff are inexperienced and in my opinion a total waste of money unless you just need a warm body. And to add insult to injury, they come late (only working a 3.5 hour shift), but Golden Years will still insist you pay the 4 hour minimum even though you didn't get it. #shady

Maya and the team at Golden Years was great! We called Maya on a Friday afternoon needing two weeks of 24/7 care starting on Sunday. Maya jumped right in and scrambled her team to accommodate the request! All of the care givers were great! Even though my Dad might be a little difficult at times! haha! My sister and I are managing my Dad from out of town, so knowing Maya and the team are there if we need more support is definitely reassuring! Thanks Maya and the team at Golden Years!

Care Coordinator Maya worked closely with us to find the right caregiver, and we found an excellent fit. I'm not gonna say who our caregiver is, because I don't want the internet to poach her from us. My parents were extremely challenging people to be around BEFORE they both started suffering from dementia at roughly the same time. Now that they can no longer think clearly, they are that much more of a challenge. Our caregiver intuitively knows when to engage with their hallucinations and mood swings, and when to cheerfully change the subject to try to keep the spirit light. It is so so SO hard to keep things light in an environment where two deeply unhappy and angry people have lost their minds. But our caregiver manages to keep mom and dad physically safe while also providing real companionship and a sunny disposition.

She's a dedicated caregiver who ensures my father takes his medications, prepares nutritious meals, and has significantly enhanced his quality of life. We now have peace of mind, knowing he's receiving top-notch care.
