Episode 2, from Disenchanted 08/03/2026 – “Personal care” meals are included at “The Coop”. Other dining areas used to be included but now personal care residence require a “voucher” with a $15 limit. Any monies over the 15-dollar limit are added to the residences monthly premium.<br>Circling back to my mother’s situation where she is charged a double occupancy rate of $530 per day, even though she is a private/single occupant. Because my mother LOVES to buy meals for her family when they come to visit her at GSV, I proposed not charging her over and above the already more than $16,000 per month and more than $193,000 per year she pays. If I use the GSV’s calculation like the $15 voucher per meal, that would equal $45 per day - $1350 per month - $16,425 per year. I was not asking for this amount of money but for GSV not to charge her an additional $50 to $200 per month, for what I consider to be meals she is already paying for in her premium/daily rate. In December 2024 they moved to personal care (not as high as the skilled care level). My reviews are to provide feedback on my experiences with personal care at GSV. My parent’s specific room is currently priced at $265 per person per day ($530 per day for double occupancy). My father sadly died in July 2025. Because GSV continues to charge my mother a private/single occupancy rate $530 per day (the same as a double occupancy), I had a conversation with the head of finance at GSV (July 2026). In my opinion a single occupancy uses less water, bedding and towels, not to mention 3 meals per day vs. 6 meals included for a double occupancy. The CFO’s explanation was that it is more efficient for GSV to have rooms with double occupancies. I said GSV’s profit margin is much greater in this situation because my mother is being charged the same as a double occupancy even though there is only one occupant. The CFO repeated his same explanation. I am left shaking my head - I’ll share more in my second episode.

Absolutely horrible communication with the residents! Your Senior management should be ashamed of themselves. Surely want their bonuses this year! At minimum they should be here keeping residents abreast of the situation! Poor management!
