My brother has been there for about one month. He has not gotten the care he needs, nor have the doctors/nurse practitioners gotten needed CT Scans/X-Rays ordered as he has complained about dry heaves for two weeks. He needs to be put back in a hospital of his choice to determine the underlying cause of his stomach issues, esophagus issues, and the 8cm mass in his lung. My brother has praised his physical therapist at FutureCare; however, she has encouraged him to go back to where he was living which is a horrific idea. He rents a second floor bedroom and has COPD so bad he has to carry an oxygen tank up a flight of stairs he has to buy his own groceries and make his own meals, do his laundry downstairs, drive himself to doctors appointments, etc. What was she thinking?!? We had several good assistant living facilities lined up for him to review, and he is now set on going back to where he lives thanks to the physical therapist's encouragement. He is so weak this morning he can hardly get out of bed. I want some answers!

I recently finished my physical therapy treatment for shoulder, hip, and knee pain, and I cannot recommend this facility enough. From the start, they were incredibly thorough, utilizing a great variety of machines and specialized equipment that made a tangible difference in my recovery. My pain is now manageable, and I feel equipped to maintain my progress thanks to the wonderful home exercises they provided. I want to specifically highlight my therapist, Riza. She is not only highly skilled and professional but also a truly kind person who made every session something to look forward to. In fact, I enjoyed the environment and the people there so much that I actually tried to fight ending my therapy! What really sets this practice apart is their integrity. They focused entirely on my recovery and encouraged my independence once I reached my goals, rather than trying to extend treatment unnecessarily. I especially appreciated that while they empowered me to continue my progress at home, they also reassured me that I can always return if the pain persists or if I need further support. It is rare to find such an honest, effective, and supportive healthcare team—thank you for helping me get back to a much better quality of life!

Cannot get hold of a human being to just find out how my loved one is doing. Front desk transfers me to places that noone picks up the phone. I have left my name # sooo many times. I'm calling at medication time in mornings or meal times. I don't really know how to speak to a person. I'm following their instructions as to how to leave a msg. Process is leave your name, phone number and who your loved one is and location of the loved one rm#. I get no human being to return a call. Front desk takes the msg and states they'll give it to the nurse...unable to reach pm supervisor...leave a msg is the instructions. I have had good experience with some care givers....but not hearing from a person....only to be transferred to a phone that noone picks up is not right.

ALL personnel are kind, professional, knowledgeable. Great receptionists. Food is exceptional. Rooms, halls etc are kept very very clean. My husband had been there on two occasions and he was well taken care of. That is why FutureCare Capital Region in Landover is highly recommended.

I visited FutureCare when it first opened and was immediately IMPRESSED. Recently, I had a close relative and a friend spend time there in rehab; my causal impression is now a confirmation that Medicare’s FIVE STAR RATING is accurate. Let’s face it, no rehabilitation or nursing home is perfect or without some issues. Having visited many rehabilitation and nursing homes, I can assure you that it is one of the best in this area. It is very clean and organized with a family room that can be used for private group dining, small parties or visits of large groups. The FITNESS ROOM is very large and spacious and filled with modern equipment and busy, expert physical therapists who do a wonderful job. It is always very clean and organized. In fact, the whole facility is. The FOOD IS VERY GOOD & and residents are allowed, within limits, to select among several choices. Kudos to the chef and dietary staff. Finally, the DIRECTOR IS VERY DEDICATED & hands-on and not just confined to her office. Once, I saw her outside checking for possible violators of handicapped parking. Which brings me to one problem; there isn’t enough handicapped parking near the main entrance or on that level.
