About Florence Home Healthcare Center

Florence Home Healthcare Center is a skilled nursing and long-term care facility located in Omaha, Nebraska, serving residents who need ongoing medical support and daily assistance.

Family experiences at Florence span a wide range. Some families report genuine attentiveness to individual needs, staff created ASL flashcards to communicate with a deaf resident, and visitors describe staff promptly responding to care tasks and going "above and beyond" during end-of-life support. One family noted the staff "does care" after a year of visits. However, other families describe serious concerns: allegations of neglect leading to severe pressure injuries, understaffing, barriers to family visitation, and management conduct around finances and medical decisions that families found problematic or deceptive. Not where we wanted to be. Just about 4 months ago my father was accepted to a home in council bluffs, the night before admission the Director of Nursing decided to no longer accept him. This was a serious disappointment as we really wanted him there. At that time we where only able to get him accepted with alzheimers to The Florence Home. We/I was skeptical of the care he may recieve. Shortly after him being here we learned this was not where we wanted my father to be, but right where he was supposed to be. My father, my hero Fred Burgess has not only been treated and cared for well. But the entire staff on the 3rd floor has become like family to us. As I type this review we are awaiting his passing and have seen the effects that it is taking on not only our family but on the staff/new family that have care and loved him as well. Octavia, Grayson, Angel, Sam, Lisa, Rachel, Nikki, Maria, D, China, Veanna, Odetta, and not to forget the nightshift as well, you will always be in our hearts and part of our family. The entire 3rd floor Florence Home crew, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for the love and care!!!<br>Doug

As a healthcare administrative person - I must give this facility a 5 star review. I don't always have a good experience calling a facility & getting answers. HOWEVER, this facility answered right away & both the front desk lady and Lora were extremely helpful & caring for our mutual patient. Well done!

its a little older building, but very nice people and great service. helped with the passing of my uncle. i don't like hospice or the idea of it, i like hands on care (active life saving) but it wasn't my call (his direct familys call),but Florence home did thier best and went above and beyond to make everyone confortable. Thanks guys for everything.
