I really enjoyed working here for the past two years, but then they fired me for taking the word of the mother of the child I was caring for instead of investigating the situation further. I am 65 years old and have been a nurse for 40 years. I have been doing homecare for 20 of those 40 years. I have never been fired from a job. This woman was upset with me because she has 12 cats in her house and I had asked her to please clean the overflowing litter box because I felt that it was unsafe for her child to be breathing that in. Well this upset her. And then I contracted pneumonia and had to be off a week and she didn’t like that either. So she called the office and told them I hit her child. This child was like my grandbaby. I have never hit any client, let alone a child. But instead of investigating, this agency just decided to fire me. This is what the owner of the last agency I worked for had to dsy about me. I’m SO sorry Eunice, you have a heart of gold you always have and you always will. Please always remember that God is in charge, sometimes bad things happen so better things can fall together. You are one of the greatest nurses I’ve ever known and a pretty darn spectacular human being. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 I love you, my dear friend. Keep your chin up. God’s got his hand on you. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

This is a great company to work with. The staff is very willing to take the time to hear the problems you have. Then tries to solve or help you solve the problem, which may include putting you with another patient. I like the support I get, and I feel the appreciation. Always willing to help, or connect you to soemone who can help. Thumps up First Day!!

First Day Home Care is a great place to work for veteran nurses. You can put your mandated shifts, unsafe nurse/patient ratios, and moral injury behind you.At First Day you are treated with dignity and respect.(it's strange at first, I know).Your insights and experience are appreciated. No ventilator experience? No worries, we can teach you. When you have one patient to take care of, it's easy to give that patient the care they deserve. The charting is easy.At First Day you will be well paid. All of the staff and management at First Day do a great job and Raina just stands out.I was fortunate to have Dana as my supervisor who understands how to get the best out of her nurses. In October of 2023,I suffered a cardiac arrest two times during a medical procedure. After I came back from the dead,I have a renewed appreciation for First Day, I can't really explain it.The secret sauce here at First Day is that everybody cares about the patients and staff. If you are kind and caring, bring your talent and experience to First Day.You can really make a difference someone's life.I know that I have. Paul Barry

I worked as a nurse for first day for less than a year. If you’re a nurse, I will caution you to please be careful with this company. I went into this telling them that I only take care of pediatric patients and that’s all I’m used to and that’s all I’m comfortable with. They sent me to an 18-year-old’s house that required a Hoyer lift and an excessive amount of chores to do, Including scrubbing the bathroom floor. I got my bachelors at University of Michigan Flint, and it took me one time going to this house to realize that this was far beyond my means. The work set out was simply Way above and beyond nursing tasks, It was more like they were looking for a housekeeper. I expressed my concerns to first day staff, Telling Amanda that I only want pediatric patients.. I went into Home care to get AWAY from hoyer lifts and only do peds. I have never taken care of an adult as a nurse. I repeatedly told them I was uncomfortable administering these medication’s that I have never given before at someone’s home Where they are not being monitored Continuously like at the hospital. I am a pediatric nurse, and I have never given a blood pressure medication. This client had more than I could name and more than I had even recognized, and I was extremely uncomfortable doing this, But Amanda Insisted that I come into train instead of finding a new family. I asked several times if I could Be placed with a different family and she insisted that I should come into train, Which led me to resigning. After that, they put me On a do not hire list which is a shame because I am still a home care nurse two years later doing wonderful with the family that I have and they would not accept me. Please be very careful with this company. If you have any questions, my name is Celeste Zachary.. you can find me on Facebook and message me. Educated nurses please stray far away from this company. Maxim or Centria or private billing. Please avoid first day.

First Day is the best company to work for! Though it’s an agency, they are always reaching out to support you and making sure you have what you need. Pay is competitive and flexible scheduling is great too.
