Recently moved Mom from a new much more expensive facility. The food here is better. The service is better. With more residents the activity level is greater. She loves it

My mom has been at Fairwinds over eleven years and we are extremely pleased with her experiences there. The health and well being of the residents is a priority. Staff is well trained, friendly and competent. There are a variety of social and wellness activities available. At 98 my mom has remained active and engaged in these activities - exercise, yoga, Tai Chi, pinochle, balloon volleyball, book club.... When she has had health concerns staff has been incredibly responsive. A wonderful place!!

I highly recommend not leaving your family member here, they take control they then decide whether your family members can come see you or not whether the family member that is in there wants to see them it doesn't matter they make that decision not you and how dare somebody come in and tell somebody's daughter that they cannot come see their mother this place is a controlling place if somebody has POA over your family member make sure it's a family member not a stranger that was able to do so after knowing this individual 5 days.<br>The manager / owner Jamie is a liar she was to get the client a copy of the POA and stated she was going to bring it down to her room and we had to go up to the desk three times and they finally told her that no, it was up to the POA to give her a copy of her own POA, not cool not fair not anything that the resident wanted, and because of the resident requesting her own POA and the manager / owner Jamie of this place is shady all they care about is the money they don't care about the resident or their families they feel they have the right to dictate who comes to see the family member now the family member is totally upset and questioning why the daughter cannot come see her and now her daughter has to hire an attorney to get this straightened out but Jamie thinks that she needs to come down and apologize to her she needs not apologize for nothing she did nothing wrong anybody who their family members signs over a power of attorney in 5 days to a stranger would be very concerning and concerned and especially if they have assets and a lot of funds in the account this is exactly what happened and on the paperwork every box was checked stating they can trade sell do whatever they want to give as gifts decide whether or not they receive their retirement decide whether or not they live or die and not related to this resident has access to all of her finances she has assets and they even stay on the POA paperwork that she is allowed to trade gift and we know that this resident would not approve if she seen that POA paperwork she would dispute it and she wants the individual off she does not want her to have any control over her finances or her assets and yet her wishes are have gone to the wayside the POA has every bit of control and the resident does not want this and has stated so in front of several people and yet nobody is listening so I just want you all to be aware of what you're dealing with their cuz once you get in there and somebody is control over your family member it's over unless you have the money to go hire an attorney in which this family member is doing so trust me this will be on the news

This place is ALL about the money and not about the care. My father was a fall risk. FAIRWIND was ready to evict him because he was a liability, but for two thousand more a month he could stay. After his THIRD trip to the hospital, after laying on the floor for hours in his room undetected. We found a better place for him. NOW FAIRWINDS won't let him out of his contract and they want another MONTHS rent for 6000. IT IS ALL ABOUT THE FLEECING.

Grandfather lived there and they are horrible to care for the elderly. Cost is outrageous, left him lying on the floor for 9 hours before anyone came to help.
