My mother was strung along for multiple weeks that she would be assigned a new home health aid after her previous elara health aid quit. Now with two weeks until a major surgery she was informed she was being dropped due to staffing issues and that she was low priority. Medicare/medicaid complaints for patient abandonment, and access to care are being filed. We will also be checking whether her insurance has been being charged for the last few weeks while no services have been being provided. To anyone the elderly, providers, or family members please trust another company with your loved one’s care.

I am writing this review with utmost shock and disgrace, as my mother received the rudest, coldest “home care” from nurse Rachel this past Tuesday. My mother had a double mastectomy on Thursday, Feb 29th. She was told that a nurse from Elara would be out within 48 hours to help change her dressings. This did not happen, as a nurse was not there until Tuesday, March 5th. While I understand these things happen with scheduling, I do not understand the lack of compassion that came from nurse Rachel. She was rude, even bullying my mother, and that is completely uncalled for. There was no care, no smile, just disrespect and coldness. She actually yelled at my mother about potentially going to a doctor appointment later that day, yelling toward her “if you’re not homebound, I don’t get paid!” My mother’s partner had to come from his home office to check why my mother was being yelled at. My elderly mother does not deserve to be treated like this. This is a shame.
