I have served as an ElderCare chaplain in nursing homes and assisted livings for 53 years. I find the staff at Prairie Shores to be some of the finest people I have worked with. They are very caring and conscientious. It is easy to see that they genuinely love the residents they serve. The facilities are neat and always improving. There is never any off-putting smell, even in the memory care unit. Prairie Shores is a good, safe place for your loved ones to live.

Maybe consider pausing the lawn mower when pedestrians are walking on the sidewalk. Nothing quite like getting covered in dust and grass clippings when walking by your business.

Horrible management, place isn’t cleaned or sanitized .. serve residents egg sandwiches for dinner .. staff doesn’t really follow the rules.

I've lived here for just over6 moths. Couldn't be happier. Staff are all wonderful very helpful. Never gad a problem with the food quality or Portion size. Thank you for all you do

AVOID THIS PLACE! I've made a mistake putting my mother in this place. We’ve consistently experienced MAJOR issues with this place.<br><br>1). The staff DO NOT respond to emergency call lights (often a 45 min - 2hr delay in response time). This resulted in my mother having to call me or 911 multiple times to assist her in emergency situations while the staff does nothing. Many other residents consistently complain about their delay responses to call light issue. Even the paramedics, physical therapist, etc.<br><br>2). HORRIBLE FOOD and terrible quality (quick picture of dinner served). Eccumen often forget to provide dinner for residents and are never consistent on meals - often delivering meals super late (past 6:30pm). I’ve had to buy groceries and drive there to drop off food due to them not having food for my mother. I would not depend on Eccumen to provide food. They no longer provide condiments and require families to provide basic needs (snacks, paper towels, etc.).<br><br>3). Housekeeping - they don’t have scheduled house cleaning days, and rooms are not cleaned for over 2+ weeks (super inconsistent). It’s sad visiting my mother to find her room unclean requiring me to barrow a vacuum to clean the rooms and reminding them/ begging them<br><br>4). They never follow up on complaints or issues. My family, social workers, and other who tried to help have to follow up/beg multiple times to get answers on basic quality care concerns she rarely receives. They have high staff turnover rates and had four clinical directors quit in the last two years. Morale is very low here.<br><br>The saddest thing is when I see my mother and other residents cry for help, looks super depressed, cause they feel like the staff do not care. Getting constant calls from my mom in the middle of the night “crying” because no one is helping her, bringing her food, or responding to her call lights.<br><br>Again, do not consider this place as a place to stay. Look elsewhere.
