I did not let my Pop stay even 24 hours. We were told it was a rehab center, but walked into the most depressing nursing home with mental and borderline vegetable patients everywhere, even behind the desk hanging out with the employees. Only thing they had going for them is that everyone I talked with was very nice. That isn't enough. I had to do all the work of asking every question about anything. They had him share a tiny room that wasn't clean, with a drafty window. The next morning I went to get him and there was a woman patient out of her mind just sitting on his bed side who I had to escort out. They told me, "oh you can take him on field trips out of the center, too, just have him back by midnight!" I discharged him myself after asking the employees a few times what I needed to sign or do to start the discharge process they said, "You can just take him." Unprofessional beyond belief, unsafe, decades out of date. I set up home health for my Pop, told them the situation, they were amazed at how unprofessional, altho they had experienced such facilities with similar dissatisfaction.

When my Mom was at Diversicare of Quitman, a staff member (that Mom thinks was named something similar to Betty) grabbed her by the back of her head and slammed her head into her table twice. When my mom tried to defend herself, said staff member said “I know your kind and I’m not getting fired because of you.” After this assault, the staff member’s cousin who also worked there told my mother it was best to not tell anyone because the staff member who assaulted her had a reputation of being violent towards residents and would most likely retaliate. She just now told the family of this disgusting abuse. She is in a much safer place now. She was at Diversicare of Quitman from Feb-May of 2022. Please, please do not trust them with your loved ones.

This place isn't even fit for a roach. So unorganized. This place should be called careless facility. If you truly love your loved one, find another facility...
