"Diamond Edgewater Assisted Living" in Edgewater, FL., is the best value in senior care / living. I 100% agree, they take great care of my parents. They have very spacious apartments, great food and excellent care staff. They have awesome activities director she makes life fun! The mayor even came to breakfast this week!

I have NEVER experienced the level of caring service for one who could not benefit another one iota as my sister has been watched over, provisioned for as given by Deb Okum, Community Relations Mgr. whose values for others is phenomenal!!!!!!!!!!<br><br>She researched, tapped and provided the financial resources available so my sister could be admitted, staying close in touch with her with transparency and honesty!<br><br>She arranged furnishings for my sister ensuring her apartment is comfortably complete for her specific needs<br><br>Deb worked with staff before my sister's admission ensuring her specific diet could be provided<br><br>She even arranged transportation so my sister could visit the facility!<br><br>The staff, the caregivers are accommodating to each individual resident actively and ongoingly intervening to provide assistance<br><br>The entire premises is immaculately maintained!!!<br><br>I am so very grateful for my sisters present and future life as a resident at Diamond ALF!!!!!!

The staff and management provided excellent personal services at a stressful time for my Dad. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone seeking assisted living or memory care. From sales to service to management every step was professional, tailored to our needs and all questions answered honestly and thoroughly.

Diamond Assisted Living Facility in Edgewater has been the ideal location for my mother. Deby worked with mom's monthly budget to permit her to move into the facility. Everyone that we've encountered at Diamond Edgewater have been fantastic - couldn't ask for more. Mom enjoys the food too, which was a concern

Assisted Living without Assistance<br><br>Diamond, formerly known as Brilliance in Edgewater is an assisted living and memory care facility. My family member lived there for almost three years. As with most assisted living facilities (I visited many), an image is presented that sounds and looks great. Only later does one learn the reality.<br><br>My family member’s first day at the facility began when he was awoken at 6:00 AM to take a shower. He did not respond well. It seemed that certain members of management were looking to anger him and provoke a response. An elderly person who acquires the label of being aggressive, has fewer options for their care.<br><br>The only thing that made the situation tolerable, were the low paid staff who genuinely cared for the people at the facility. Since trying to provide good care without management support is draining, some of the staff had left or were in the process of leaving. If a resident needed help with their TV remote, there was no one to help them.<br><br>The food was mostly prepackaged and often fried, such as fries and chicken nuggets. Soups and desserts were better. In memory care, favorite drinks, napkins and silverware were frequently forgotten.<br><br>My family member lived in memory care for about 7 months. They are understaffed. A short craft activity from a part-time activity director is planned for some days. Clients were “on their own” most of the time and got little attention. Hearing aids were lost and mishandled. Memory care residents were expected to supply their own toilet paper. Due to more frequent falls and some aggressive behavior we were forced to hire private one on one care 24/7 at an extra $30 an hour. This stopped the falls, but there was no reduction in the monthly assisted living fee even though the private one on one health workers provided most of the care.<br><br>It has been a learning experience. An assisted living facility is a business. They try to maximize income and minimize costs. Once a person has moved into a facility, there is a strong inclination to not put the person through the trauma of a second move. A business knows this, and therefore doesn’t need to try that hard. Daily visits to a loved one living at an assisted living facility are important. Developing a relationship with the frontline caregivers is vital. These selfless people were the heroes at Diamond.
