I went to visit my dear friend at Desert Springs in Indio and I loved my visit with my friend. The staff was accommodating and concerned about the comfort of my friend. This was impressive to me. I feel confident that my friend is in a good place to heal.

Today was my first time there. My brother who is young, 49 years old had a stroke and was placed here from JFK hospital. Today I got to interact with the staff, two different nurses, the physical therapist and the speech therapist and the very sweet and kind lady at the front desk.. The CNA’s were awesome. Everyone really seems to care about my brother. Everyone answered all my questions. I am grateful that they are taking good care of him at this difficult time in his life. I saw compassion today.

This place truly is the stuff of nightmares. Feces and blood on the floor and curtains, screaming patients, no bed rails, patients stacked into rooms, and medical records in boxes on the floor. We witness one patient crawling on the floor to his wheelchair where he tried to get himself in the chair. No staff assist or call button. This place needs to be shut down. The front doors do not open automatically at night. We were told this is to keep the patients in! This place is beyond awful.
