During a recent JMU football weekend, we toured a Crownpoint 55+ Living duplex in Harrisonburg, VA and came away most impressed! The duplex residence, listed as 1500 sq. ft., was spacious with a beautiful open living space and high ceilings and was very well appointed with its granite counters and kitchen appliances. The bedrooms were surprisingly large and roomy, and we were impressed by the size and amenities of the ensuite bathroom and walk in closet of the master bedroom. The model’s smaller bedroom had been arranged as a home office but was nonetheless very well-suited to remain a sleeping quarters. My wife and I are fully mobile, capable, and intent on independent living, but as we age, the home’s single level living, its wide doors and passages, and maintenance free upkeep along with the planned community amenities including a pickleball court, a fitness center, and walking trail suggest it is an ideal residence and community in which to easily “age in place!”
