As a diabetic, I'm supposed to get proper meals. Last\nNight, I don't know what I have for suffer.It was unrecognizable tonight I had stuff that was cold like it was out of the.Refrigerator with a lot of starch and sugar i wish I could post a picture of my meal is pretty sad i know, it's not the fault of the staff that fixes the food.They fix what they're given.Somebody's just not spending much money.On nutrition

An absolutely horrible place! Everyone is over worked and under paid which is why it seems they're out of touch with the reality that most of these patients are IN NEED of a facility (and are not at home) because they can't take care of themselves, even temporarily until they get through rehabilitation or worst...they're needing long term care. It's heartbreaking to witness what I did. I'm truly surprised they are even open, Avante has one of the lowest ratings in the state, according to their statewide rating of these types of facilities (which I did not find out until after the fact) and when compared to other facilities I'm sure you'll find better options. How can much needed meds be forgotten for 36 hours? Some nurses and aides really tried to do their best and they were genuinely caring when it came to the patients so I applaud their effort but some were there for the experience until something better opened up for them....maybe? Also, I don't know what this Agency is where this facility employs help from (I didn't ask because I didn't want to know) but you could obviously tell who was from there and who wasn't. I also was concerned when I came in and my relative was wearing a shirt that I'd never brought in for her to wear, I guess one patient has the right to wear another patients clothing only to find out you don't know who has your clothes nor do you know where the clothes they're giving you came from...must've been Musical Shirts Sunday. Musical Trousers Tuesday was pretty exciting, my relative never bought a pair of red jogging pants in her life but she certainly had them on when I came to visit...When I looked at her laying there with them on, my mouth went open to ask. She quickly shut me up and told me not to ask. Ask around, I'm sure you'll get all the verbal reviews you want from anyone in the medical field; every doctor and nurse I've talked with since had a very poor opinion of this place.. According to my relative and her Avante roommate this place is a gateway to Hell, luckily both are back home and recouping from the experience.

Horrible place!! Could not get billing right, questioned it, says that they applied what you had overpaid to future months. Gave my mom double medication. 2 sleeping pills after she had been taken off on them. Had to speak to nurse Angela to get it taken off of her med list because head nurse Melissa did not do so. Any drs that come in, make sure you monitor who and when they see them. Avante does not file insurance correctly. My mom has a collection against her for misbilling. It’s just a horrible place!! Office manager does not want to cooperate, just wants to give run around!! Stay away!!!

Avante at Harrisonburg provides skilled nursing care as well as physical, occupational, and speech therapy. The staff are warm and caring people. The facility is conveniently located to the downtown area and local shopping. I recommend the facility to those in need of the services provided.

This was a nightmare one nurse used a tongue depressor to apply the wrong medication and sawed back and forth until she tore my stitches out they gave me wrong medication I guess so they could take mine home to use or sell. The lady across the hall fell and the nurse cussed her for 15 minutes and left her lay for 2 hours then they went in and picked her up by feet and underarms and had a dr check her the next day 78 of my morphine pills came up missing they didn't want to wear gloves even after coughing in their hands
