My wife & I moved into The Samarkand 6 months ago. Our experience has been better than we could have ever imagined. The staff, residents & the entire campus are ABSOLUTELY amazing. The Samarkand has so many amenities to offer so you can be as busy as you want or relax in the beautiful apartments that are completely renovated prior to your moving in. This has been a FANTASTIC experience !!!

I helped my parents move into a residential living apartment at The Samarkand just over a year ago, and we are so pleased with our decision! It is a warm and welcoming community that takes great care in helping new residents adjust to a new environment, with exceptional staff, charming residents and comfortable facilities, all in a beautiful setting. My parents love the food, the fitness classes, and all of the fun community activities, and made quick friends with many of their charming neighbors. My parents and I love the walk-ability of surrounding neighborhood, and the fact that there are so many great shops, restaurants and services within a mile of the property. I have already recommended The Samarkand to many of my friends with senior parents who are looking for a unique continuing care community in the Santa Barbara area. We have lots of choices for senior living in our lovely area, but The Samarkand was by far the best choice for our family for so many reasons, the most significant being the wonderful people that make it up, both residents and staff.

I've been a resident at The Samarkand for almost two years and am very pleased with my decision to move here. I tell my kids the only downside is that the place is full of old people, but being one myself, I really can't complain. And, in just about every way, it's the nicest place I've ever lived!

We have lived at The Samarkand for less than a year, but it feels like we’ve been here for a longer time. That’s because of the amazing fellow residents we have gotten to know. The management and staff who make this place tick are like jewels in a crown. Several discussion/fellowship groups, multiple activities from art, exercise, music, games, travel, to name a few offer creative options.. The location is so central that many needs are Just a short walk away. We feel coddled and loved, all the while living in one of the nicest resorts we have ever discovered.
