Horrible experience!! The state says 2.5 hours a day per patient, NO WAY IS ANY patient/ resident getting this! Unless you count feeding time or activities! The employees at this facility are over worked!! There is not enough help!! The residents sit with their call lights on for ever!! They are so under staffed!! No one wants to be accountable!! They all pass the blame, I would NEVER recommend this facility . You have to watch your loved ones and be advocates!! I had to change my mom’s brief because it would take so long for anyone to come, because they were short staffed! I had to give her a shower, the bath they have does not work. The staff don’t have time to bath or shower the residents, so if the resident/ patient can’t do it themselves, they probably haven’t had a shower in weeks. Also serving food is more important than changing a patient/ resident with a soiled brief. Worst experience!! Also know if you send a loved one there they will have very little interaction with staff ( although the activities ladies do a great job trying to keep the patients that can come out engaged)unless to be feed or meds . Very disappointed in this facility they didn’t a security system when we first got there because “ we’re in Copley ,plus the police are right down the street.” Is what we’re told. They had a security system put in last week( thank God) . Ask how many aides they have on each shift if they say 2, you might want to look elsewhere!! They have call offs and these aides then have to cover the other buildings!! They need more staff.

Concordia at Sumner saved my Mother’s life and mine! Marie Schultz is 103 years young. She had been bounced from facility to facility after significant falls and surgeries after age 100. For the past three years Concordia at Sumner staff and Gardens of Western Reserve Hospice have taken tender care of her. Social workers calmed my separation anxiety thus caring for me, as well. I never thought my Mother and I would laugh and enjoy life together again. Concordia’s Recreation Director, Nancy Masseria, makes us laugh over Bingo and other activities. Concordia has exceptional entertainment such as live entertainment, pianists, singers, dancers and more. Concordia allows me to bring my little dog, Moet, to see Mom. Other residents look forward to her arrival. Also, most importantly the doctors and nurses at Concordia discovered the proper treatment and medications to keep her alert and her sweet self. God Bless the staff at Concordia at Sumner.
