I’m a caregiver and when my client couldn’t be home anymore cause of needing more care he was sent to this place. I came to check on him a few days later and found my blind client lowered to the floor level, blinds totally pulled down and closed with his tray of breakfast at the highest level cold and it was noon time. He didn’t know there was food there nor could even try to attempt to eat it since it was way above him and he’s blind! It was cold in the room, he was naked from the waist up with just a thin sheet on him and his lips were people from being cold. I was mortified! I found the head nurse and told her how I found him and she just stared at me like a deer in the headlights, either she was on drugs or way over worked, she has no real response as she said she’ll find someone to check in him then walked away. It’s a nice looking facility but terrible inside for treatment. My son is an officer in the area and gets calls all the time to go there for many reasons but said “I feel sorry for the patients there, it’s horrific” I hate to say this but, thank God he died within a few weeks there, he was taken out if his misery. He was the sweetest, kindest most appreciate client I ever had.

Today the Kenosha Kennel Club Therapy Dog Group visited Grande Prairie. We had 4 dogs and handlers. The visit was a total success as those patients that we met were delighted. We were in the facility about an hour.

Honestly had mixed feelings. Some staff members were amazing and really attentive, while others seemed overwhelmed or rushed. My family member did receive good rehab care overall, but there were occasional delays when we needed updates. The facility itself was nicer than many other places we toured.

We toured this facility while helping find care for a relative. It seemed organized, clean, and active compared to other nursing homes in the area. Residents were participating in activities during our visit, which was nice to see. The admissions staff answered our questions thoroughly and didn’t pressure us.

My uncle was here temporarily for rehabilitation and the therapy team was excellent. He improved a lot faster than we expected. Visiting hours were convenient and the front desk staff were always welcoming. Food looked decent compared to other nursing homes we’ve seen.
