My father was a patient here from October 2018 to August of 2019. He broke his femur at home and was sent to community care for rehab once he left St Thomas in Murfreesboro. Originally planned to keep him here for a minimal amount of time, just until the rehab was completed. The employee handling the intake, and later insurance and billing initially seemed helpful, offered to assist with helping him get home health care assistance from Tenncare and some assistance from the VA. The idea was to get him home asap and his care would continue. Every 6 weeks or so I'd check on the progress with his applications, only to be told it was a waiting game to get approval. Also if I removed him from the facility the process would have to start all over again. After 8 months or so, while constantly being strung along with the Tenncare process, I was told his rehab had gone as far as it could. I was told he would never walk again and he needed to stay at the facility for the remainder of his life since we had no way to care for him at home (keep in mind before he was hospitalized he was fully mobile and took care of himself for the most part). At that point I again asked how everything was going with Tenncare only to be told no paperwork had ever been submitted. It was a scam all along, they had no intention of him ever leaving there. I made preparations and took him home in August. He passed away that following January. As far as the care goes, everyone seemed to be kind to my father. The only think he complained about was the food. But as far as them actually helping him during his time there, there was no improvement. He left there in worse shape and far less mobile than he was when he left the hospital. And promising to assist with transitioning him home, then continually lying about the progress, that's shady as can be. I would not recommend sending a loved one here. And if you do, make sure they're doing what they promise.
