We thought they would take better care of my dad, but they didn't. We told them that he had a recent stomach infection at the hospital before he came there and he needed a bland diet for awhile. The ones in charge at the staff meeting disagreed. He also needed a monitor for his pacemaker which he never got in the 6 days that we saw him. He fell and had a huge knot on his forehead that bled and we told them to take him next door to the Vetetans hospital, didn't happen when he fell a second time either. Everything we discussed about him at the meeting was overridden by the attitude that "we know what to do," but we might as well have skipped the meeting because he was supposed to live at least 6 more months. It didn't happen. He died 5 days after we left and we never got a phone call to tell us that he was doing worse. We would have come to see him sooner had we been called and took him to the hospital or home. He never got any pain relief from hospice or the nursing home. His nice electric shaver was stolen before they even came to write down his personal belongings. After he died, his eyeglasses, wedding ring, and his partials were gone. He died 2 years ago. No thanks to TSVH, we no longer have a father or husband.

The Tennessee State Veterans home is inviting and clean. My mother-in-law arrived there yesterday after my wife and I took a tour and requested her to stay there. We are extremely happy how everything is maintained and the staff are friendly and inviting. Thank you!!
