Community Care has wonderful staff. The Therapy group are amazing and I love how much care they put into each of the residents they have. I go up there about 2 times a week to visit my grandmother. The facility itself needs work. They take donations of supplies like depends, pull-ups, wipes, and over the counter things. There are a lot of residents with little to no visits from family or friends. These residents are in higher need of little things. The nurses take great care of their residents. My grandmother has cute braids and so many nice things to say about the staff. The building is old, but it is the only current option for nursing facilities in the area and they definitely make do with what they have.

If you’re planning on having a family member admitted to this facility please consider being there every day to ensure basic hygiene and care measures take place. I’m talking about basics, such as bedside tables with water within reach for the resident for starters! Then look at the room floors and god forbid under the bed! The floors get mopped in common areas, the individual rooms get rarely mopped. Closets don’t get cleaned after previous residents leave! We cleaned rodent droppings and dirt for 15 minutes of a shelf prior to moving our mother’s close in. Roaches run up and down the hallways , the ventilation and air conditioning works “minimal “ and sometimes not at all! Residents clothes “disappear “ and other residents clothes will appear despite names clearly marked! Administrator is very nice and will tell you it will be “addressed “ but nothing will happen! Staff doesn’t wash their hands going from room to room! Infection control is a joke! The LVN’ (licensed practical nurses) will sit at their desk as call bells and monitors go off around them, the nurses aide may be busy but evidently they are the sole staff that can “answer “ a call bell! Please also check the facility Medicare ratings!! This is a one star facility with numerous deficiencies and fines!! All things we learned the hard way!! If your loved one has any dementia or isn’t fully aware- this isn’t the place!!! Nursing management- not existent, no oversight!

It’s been a long time since someone left a review. I don’t know if the people that left these reviews work there or were paid to write them. But this place needs to have a surprise inspection by the state. When administration knows state is coming they hide what’s really going on and play nice. This place is constantly out of necessities. Pull ups, wipes, slings, not enough wheel chairs. Some of the beds are broken. Infested with roaches, spiders and sometimes even snakes. A resident was dropped while be lifted with a hoyer because they are not paying attention to weight limits for hoyers. Patient end up with sores because they don’t always have the creams needed. This place is disgusting and so is the administration. They don’t care. There is only 1 washing machine to get things washed for this entire facility. This has been going on for far too long. There are cna’s that have been the going on 3 years that still have not been able to get their certification. When is something going to be done about this place???
