Clatsop Care Memory Community

Clatsop Care Memory Community is a residential care facility in Warrenton, Oregon specializing in memory care for residents living with dementia. The community emphasizes resident-centered care, fostering a stimulating and nurturing environment while facilitating independence as much as possible.

As part of Clatsop Care Health District, the Memory Community offers access to an extended network of services through the District's other programs, making it the only facility of its kind in the local area with such integrated support. The location enables local families to remain close to loved ones receiving care.

The physical environment is thoughtfully designed to support residents with dementia. The building incorporates specific design elements—from layout and furniture to décor and music—intended to provide mental and emotional stimulation. Living units are organized into four distinct neighborhoods, each painted a different color to aid resident recognition and wayfinding.

The community features one and two-bedroom units, two community dining rooms, two kitchenettes, and multiple activity spaces. Three enclosed courtyards provide safe outdoor access where residents can walk, enjoy fresh air and sunshine, and participate in activities such as ice cream socials on nice days. The courtyards include benches, mature blueberry bushes, and raised flower beds.
