The nurses, cna's and therapy team work hard every day to provide compassionate care and help residents reach therapy goals. The residents love always having something do in activities room such as playing bingo, listening to live music or just stopping by for some popcorn and a slushie from the new slush machine.<br>Clarkston Cascadia is a place that strives to provide a supportive and caring place for residents and their families.

My daughter called to say good bye to her grandfather and nurse Ju Ju refused. Asked why I was calling, I need to come and talk to him in person. Mind you I live almost 1000 miles away . Also refused for his son to say good bye. The phones were switched off and couldn't get through. Terrible experience from this nurse, brought this to a supervisors attention, excuses no action from her.<br>Shame on this nurse.

I am writing this review with deep grief, anger, and disbelief regarding the treatment I received from a nurse at your hospice facility during my grandfather’s final hours.<br><br>My family was informed that my grandfather’s life was sadly coming to an end and that, since I live out of state, I could call to say my goodbyes. When I called his room, a nurse who identified herself as “Juju” answered. I asked to speak to my grandfather.<br><br>Her response was shockingly rude and cruel. She stated, “Do you people not get it? He can’t talk.” I calmly explained that I understood this and that I was calling simply to say goodbye, and that I had been told the phone could be held to his ear.<br><br>Her response was, verbatim, “Why? It’s not like he can hear you anyway.”<br><br>I was so stunned, hurt, and upset by this complete lack of empathy that I hung up the phone. Hours later, my grandfather passed away.<br><br>Because of this nurse’s words and actions, I was denied the chance to say goodbye to my grandfather in his final moments—something I will carry with me for the rest of my life.<br><br>Hospice care is meant to be centered on compassion, dignity, and emotional support—not just for the patient, but for their families. Whether or not a patient can respond is irrelevant. Families say goodbye for their own healing, closure, and peace. Any professional working in hospice should understand this at the most basic human level.<br><br>To the nurse who treated me this way: I sincerely hope you never have to say goodbye to someone you love over the phone. And if you ever do, I hope you are shown more kindness and humanity than you showed me.<br><br>To the administration: allowing someone with such a profound lack of empathy to care for dying patients and grieving families is unacceptable. This experience was traumatizing and completely contrary to the mission hospice care claims to uphold.<br><br>You should be ashamed that a grieving family member was treated with such cruelty during one of the most vulnerable moments of their life.<br><br>No family should ever be made to feel this way again.
