Love the medical and therapy staff at Children's long term care unit in mountainside! They're like family to us! They treat the children living there like their own kids. I never worried about my special needs son when he was in their care. And I loved seeing the same staff every time I visited- some have been at children's for decades! It's hard enough to have your child living outside of your home but I always knew our son was well taken care of by his huge extended family at Children's!

At first back in 2018 my MIL went to the JC location to add my daughter to the waitlist since the school wouldnt even take a look at her without a neuro developmental pediatrician doing so first and yes the wait time was appx6-8 months (so is anywhere else) i got a phone call within 6-8 months to schedule her appointment- the staff and doctors have always been so kind and thoughtful. I never wait longer than 5 minutes to get a person on the phone they make sure we attend our 6 months appt by sending reminders. Unfortunately the JC location is now closed and we will be starting up at a new location I'm hoping the new staff and doctors are just as great as the previous ones. My daughter has severe anxiety and learning disabilities without CSH she wouldnt be getting the help she needs from the school. I'm so grateful for places like CSH and what they do for the children they help on a daily basis. I now have 2 children that see their doctors and it's been a huge relief to have these doctors and the staff that understand what I am going through they also have helped with putting me in touch with an advocate to help go up against the school when they didnt want to do what was th schools job and they make sure I know my rights as a parent.

Our first appointment was October 16th thankfully due to a cancellation, if not we would've waited until December. Upon arriving my son and I were welcomed by the staff and treated with so much kindness and warmth. People need to understand if you're going for an evaluation there will be lots of writing from the doctor !!!!!!!! that's the main purpose of a evaluation they ask you questions, study your child's behavior before coming to a final conclusion. I'm glad I found this hospital because the truth be told they helped myself and my son when no one else would. always ask questions in regards to your insurance provider so that you know what's being covered and what isn't !!!!!

Okay so here is my situation my son doesn't really talk much. The pediatrician recommended me speech therapy at this place. I spoke to a lady from the scheduling department and at first she said there was availability for October 31st for audiology. And the same day I was like no I want my son to go trick or treating and have a fun time that day. So I called back and made an appointment for a little later. So she said we have an opening for Nov. 7 I was like book it! So Yesterday was my son's appointment and the lady at the Register department said that the lady moved it to August 13 and supposedly she called me to confirm it. And we were getting very frustrated me and my mom. And at first it seemed there wasn't an opening for that day. Me and my mom both took off from work to be there for my son's appointment. But this nice lady Tanya worked her magic and she helped us get an appointment but not only that she also helped us get a second appointment for speech therapy If it wasn't for Tanya I would've gave that lady and this place one star! But I feel like Tanya definitely deserves a raise but she changed our mood from frustrated to happy! Whoever is reading this I hope you have a blessing life!
