If you’re trying to decide where to place your loved one, Cherokee Nursing and Healing is a strong choice. What truly sets this facility apart is its consistent, hands-on leadership. You can feel the difference when leadership is present, accountable, and committed—not just occasionally, but every day. That consistency creates a stable environment for both residents and staff. The team knows what’s expected, communication is clear, and there’s a genuine focus on quality care and respect for every resident. It’s not just about meeting standards—it’s about creating a place where people are cared for with intention. Choosing a facility is never easy, but knowing there is strong, steady leadership in place brings a level of trust and reassurance that matters. Cherokee Nursing and Healing offers that foundation, and it shows in the way the building operates and how residents are treated.

My dad has been at Cherokee Center for 3 years and I have been very pleased with his care. The staff is caring and responsive. The facility is clean. They have activities for the residents and family can participate as well.

This facility was wonderful for my family, easiest admission process in such a vulnerable time. My disabled father was wonderfully taken care of, he never complained only showed us how great of a relationship he had with their team. He unfortunately suffered another stroke while there and was promptly taken care of and taken to the hospital, to which he returned back to the facility on hospice. The staff there showed how much my Dad meant to them as a resident and I knew I had made the right decision for him then. Nurse Rebecca and Misty were so wonderful to us and our family. My dad enjoyed most of the food and appreciated the upkeep of the facility in general, as did we when we visited. You can trust your loved ones will be taken care of here.

Cherokee Center for Nursing and Healing is exactly what you want when you no longer want to mow a lawn, remember where you parked, or pretend small talk is interesting. It’s warm, it’s safe, the staff actually care, and the Jell-O wiggles with quiet dignity. Would I recommend it? Yes—with the following caveats: bring your own hot sauce, learn to love Lawrence Welk reruns, and never, ever sit in the front row during trivia if you value your self-esteem. Solid choice for the second half of Act III. Would stay again (probably involuntarily).

Kudos for bright railing on the building! Why make a nursing home look like a prison if you don't have to? I love going to visit mom today and seeing this bright new paint job.
