I am currently a resident at Chatuge Regional Nursing home and have been here for about 16 months. I am here because I have MS and can no longer care for myself because I am unable to walk anymore. When my husband passed away in 2023 I moved in here from a nursing home in Jonesboro, Georgia. This is the 3rd nursing home I have been in and is by far the best one I have been in. Being in a nursing home is just what it is! It's not "home" and nobody should expect it to be. I do have to say that Chatuge is my home and I have made many friends here with residents and employees. I am well cared for and have very few complaints as far as care I receive. Are they understaffed, yes, but the other 2 homes I was in were understaffed as well. I just think it takes a special person to do what our CNAs and nurses do. It's a very labor intensive job. They are constantly having to move and lift people that can't do much to help and that's not an easy 12 hour job to have to do. They are kicked, slapped, spit on and yelled/cussed at EVERY day. That is not a job most people would ever choose to have. This home is always clean and never smells rank like a lot of other nursing homes do. Finally, we are provided numerous activities and outings that entertain us. We just had a chili cook off where many of the workers brought in home made chili and we all voted on the ones we liked best. It was a lot of fun and we asked them to do it again. Anyway, it's just a great place to be and I would recommend it to anyone in need of a new "home". I love my crew here!! 😘

I would like to respond to the family that states the horrible conditions the grandmother was left in, and was left there for two months. First of all shame on you. If that was my grandmother and ALL of these horrible things were happening and such lack of care/ neglect was found, I would have put my her on my back if I had to and would have hauled her out of there before the Georgia sun went down. My grandmother admitted herself at Chatuge after my grandpa passed away, and spent 12 years there before passing on. She loved it, and I could have not asked for better care. I had other family members there as well, and I have NO complaints or concerns about their care. If there comes a time in my life that I need nursing home placement, Chatuge Regional Nursing Home will be my choice

This place is a death trap and the lack of care they provided my grandmother led directly to her death. My grandmother went in for a broken hip rehab and while she was there suffered horribly. The staff is NOT properly trained. They are under staffed and do NOT provide the care patience need. My mother witnessed horrible conditions and care for my grandmother. Everyday was a battle to get them to properly care for her. Simple things like feeding her and giving her water were not done. Due to their improper feed of my grandmother she aspirated her food into her lungs. This turned into pneumonia. Do you think they gave her breathing treatment when the dr prefers then? NO. Do you think they used the simple tool she should have breathed into to exercise her lungs??? NO! My mother would check on her 2x a day and realized they wouldn’t help her eat or give water. My mother came in one day to find her upside down about to fall off the bed because the position the staff left her in. They would of shut her door and not check on her. Bed sore always and dirty diapers. This is a place for your loved ones to go and suffer and die. I hope this review saved other lives. I wished we would have know how horrible this facility was and she would still be here with us. Yes a few staff members are qualified but most not. Also they didn’t follow drs orders and even forgot to administer medication that would have prevented my grandmothers death. It has been a heart breaking experience and really they should be completely shut down. On top of all this their lack of hygiene my grandmother contracted COVID from this faculty which lead to her death. I pray that God will have mercy upon the staff their and will change their hearts. Truly take our family’s warning and do anything you can to NOT put your loved one there. We wish we would have never. She was only there 2 short months and passed away.
