This is an ACTIVE retirement community with all the extras.<br><br>The decor is beautiful—bright, tasteful, and welcoming—and the location is unbeatable, just steps from the beach and right in the heart of La Jolla.<br><br>What really makes Chateau La Jolla special, though, is the atmosphere. General Manager Kaity Rudolph has clearly set the tone. Her leadership shines through in the incredibly friendly staff, the attentive service, and the genuinely happy residents who call this place home. You can feel the positive energy the moment you walk through the door.<br><br>And perhaps the biggest surprise of all: it’s very, very affordable—especially for such an incredible location by the coast. Finding a place this charming, well-run, and reasonably priced in La Jolla feels like striking gold.<br><br>If you’re looking for a welcoming community with beautiful surroundings and a great team behind it, Chateau La Jolla is an absolute gem.

I've lived at the Chateau La Jolla for a full decade, and it has exceeded my expectations. Located<br>just a block from the ocean, it offers coastal access for swimming and morning walks. The staff here<br>is friendly, and responsive. The dining staff is well trained, and the chef does a fine job of preparing<br>excellent meals. A nurse is here on duty 24/7. Included is house cleaning service once a week. Noise<br>levels in the apartments are minimal, neighbors are friendly, and common spaces are well cared for.<br>Chateau has plenty of activities to keep you active, also has a fitness center with various types of<br>equipment to help keep you in good shape. A rare gem in la jolla -walking distance to the ocean,<br>loaded with amenities, great staff. After 10 years here, I couldn't imagine living anywhere else. Highly recommended

We have collaborated with Chateau La Jolla for many, many years. Both ownership and staff are top-notch. Managing Director Kaity Rudolph is attentive, innovative, experienced, and caring. Chateau La Jolla offers a distinctly unique opportunity for aging in place. The location and community are fantastic.

Their dining room is open to the public and has an excellent, very hearty breakfast for approximately $10!
