Sadly, I must amend my five-star rating to a one-star since my original post was referring to the previous management and staff. Unfortunately under the current management team, I no longer feel comfortable recommending this place to anyone. Original post: "This place is outstanding! I had my Mom into two places before I was lucky enough to find Chateau De Mons. It is very charming, warm, and comfortable. The staff is great and the client employee ratio is good. The employees spend time with the clients, do activities, and treat the clients like their family. My Mom has a great roommate, and the staff is very continuous to match clients well. As far as the negative statement regarding the police being called on clients by Chateau De Mons... This ONLY happens when a client is violent and endangering the safety of other clients and employees!!! I specifically witnessed an out of control client hitting another helpless client and was very impressed how quickly and professionally handled the situation. I feel relieved that my Mom is in a safe place and is treated with such kindness and love. The two prior places my Mom was at were fancier, cost more, but had abrupt employees who spent little time with clients, talked down to them, and did not prevent violent clients from harming other clients. I feel incredibly blessed and thankful for all the staff at Chateau De Mons and would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants the best environment for their loved ones."

I am so glad we found the Chateau! A friend recommended it after trying several facilities for her mom. My aunt has succeeded living at Chateau and that's saying a lot! She is not always an easy character and has a strong will. The staff are friendly and amazing dealing with memory issues day in and day out. The size of the facility is perfect for my aunt. She can find her way around and not get lost. All the staff know all the clients. I like that I see familiar staff every time I visit. Walking with a loved one through dementia is not an easy journey. ..I am grateful for the people at Chateau that have helped bring some stability and joy to my aunt down this difficult road!

Making the decision to place a loved one in assisted living is so hard. We battled with this for years as we tried to care for my mother at home. Moving her into Chateau has been one of the best decisions for both of us. Caring staff and enriching activities are among the reasons we chose chateau. My mom enjoys being here and is living a more fulfilled life than she could with us at home.

I am really pleased with the care that my mother gets at the Chateau. The staff is absolutely super. They really care about the people. I looked at a lot of places and could not find one that was as good as the Chateau. I wanted my mother in a home like setting so she would be feel more like she was in a home not a hospital. The staff is absolutely fantastic with my mother. I call every night to see how my mother's day was I get a really good report and the staff takes the time to tell me. I would tell my friends about the Chateau because it really is a great place for you're loved one. I hope that when I need to go to a home that I can go to the Chateau.

My loved one lived at Chateau for a year before recently transferring to a facility which provides a higher level of care for his dementia. During the year that he lived at Chateau, I spent a minimum of 2-3 hours with him there each day and had the opportunity to interact frequently with both staff and residents. I found the staff to be observant, caring and responsive to his needs. Since I was there often and for lengthy periods of time, I had the perfect vantage point to watch interaction of staff and residents. I noted nothing but positive communication and care. The staff demonstrated the ability to interact individually with residents, meeting them on their level and providing distractions and/or redirection when needed. All staff members are familiar with each resident and their skill and communication levels. It should be noted that there are members of the staff that have been there for longer than 15 years and some members of staff that have returned to work in the facility after having left to work elsewhere. It is a testament to the family atmosphere of Chateau. The food served in the dining room is tasty, creative, varied and plentiful enough for second helpings. Staff was responsive to my request that larger portions be given to my loved one as he lacked the ability to ask for more himself. Snacks (often cookies, cakes and muffins baked by staff) are served daily. There is a large garden tended by staff and residents throughout the growing season and the vegetables are prepared and served to the residents. The administrator changed within the last month that my loved one lived at Chateau. The new administrator is dynamic and a non-procrastinator. The she jumps in wherever there is a need and is on-top of everything in the place. She is a definite asset to a place that was already well-run. If you have specific questions about Chateau, I urge you to ask the administrator to pass along your contact phone number and I will be happy to call you and honestly discuss my experiences directly and answer any questions you may have.
