Catholic Eldercare

Catholic Eldercare has been serving seniors in the Northeast Minneapolis neighborhood since 1983, offering a continuum of care that supports residents at every stage of aging. The community is described as a “village of people” who surround and care for residents, with caregivers described as passionate and family-like.

The community offers transitional care services, noted as Northeast’s first fully dedicated transitional care unit, designed to ease residents’ return home after a hospital stay. Outpatient therapy services are also available, including physical, occupational, and speech therapy.

For seniors who continue to live at home, the Eldercare by Day program provides socialization and daily activities so they can experience the benefits of community engagement without leaving their residence.

Programming at Catholic Eldercare includes art, music, gardening, and cultural experiences intended to nourish residents' spirits alongside their physical care. A pastoral ministry staff provides spiritual support and fulfillment to residents of all faiths, reflecting the community's Catholic roots while welcoming people of varied backgrounds.

The grounds include updated landscaping designed to allow residents using walkers or wheelchairs to explore outdoor spaces more easily, along with garden areas such as the St. Anthony Garden. The community is rooted in and connected to the surrounding Northeast Minneapolis neighborhood, hosting neighborhood socials and programs aimed at combating social isolation among seniors.
