I recently visited this senior living community to learn more about potential employment opportunities and to get a sense of the environment. Unfortunately, my first impression was extremely disappointing. When I arrived, I was greeted by the receptionist—whose title is “Director of First Impressions.” Her demeanor was unexpectedly rude and dismissive, which left me shocked. A simple warm welcome would have made all the difference. She could have thanked me for my interest, smiled, and kindly directed me to the official website to apply. Instead, she curtly told me to “pick up a card and apply online,” without a smile, despite my own polite and respectful approach. The role of Director of First Impressions should embody hospitality and a sense of welcome, especially in a community that serves seniors who deserve warmth and kindness. This encounter made it clear that the front desk experience needs serious attention to ensure visitors and residents alike feel valued and respected.

My Mother moved to Carlton earlier this year. The first three weeks were a bit bumpy. The staff were missing some of the services my Mom had elected. Upon notifying Carlton's management team we noticed great improvement. The staff was always so nice and friendly. The kitchen does a great job on the food. The building and grounds are clean and well maintained. They also worked very well with my Mom's hospice care provider. Even after my Mom's death, they went out of their way to provide support in getting things finalized. I hope a place like this is available if I ever need it.

The staff is very knowledgeable and courtious. They take their time and are very attension oriented. Thelma is a very caring and competent care giver and takes her time to get to know the residents and staff to help with better communication within the facility.
