This review is strictly for their billing. The care the aide gave my mom was outstanding. But this company’s billing methods and lack of training for the administrative staff is frustrating. They only give you 10 days to pay the bill from when they send it. They will say they will mail an invoice (my preference) but they only email it. My sister filled out the forms for my mom to have after-hospital care. She put my mom’s credit card on the forms. My understanding is that Caregiving by Kathy will charge the card on the forms if the bill isn’t paid within ten days from when they send out the invoice. I was on vacation when they emailed the invoice to my sister who forwarded it to me. When I got home, I called the number on the invoice to have them charge my card instead of my mother’s card. I knew there wouldn’t be time to send them a check. The invoice was for $3000 but the next day, my card was only charged $150. I called and the person I spoke to said she paid the last invoice but just noticed the first one. I told her I only had one invoice for $3000 and I was unaware of a 2nd invoice. I told her to please charge my card for the $3000 and send me the $150 invoice immediately, so I had a bill to match up to the payment I already made. She seemed very confused so I repeated what I said to make sure my card was charged for the original bill and she assured me it would be taken care of. The next day, I get a text saying my MOM’S card was charged for the $3000! I called immediately and there was a different person who answered who seemed like she could care less about the situation and said she would email the billing department. I am still waiting for a call back. This company hires aides to take care of people and our one experience with the aide was exceptional! The company itself needs to learn how to deliver good customer service, run a billing department, and everyone in the department needs to learn how to process a credit card. If they had a link on the invoice to pay by credit card directly, this mess could’ve been avoided. Alternatively, they could give someone 30 days to pay an invoice so there is enough time to send a check.
