My mother was there. And the communication with them is next to none. And try calling just to getva machine 24/7. Not to mention my mom's call button was never on her and across the room. This is a HORRIBLE place to send a loved one. I'd strongly advise in finding another place. This place should be shut down in my opinion!!!!

My great aunt has been in here for a little while now and let me just say it’s been terrible. My aunt has to press her call light to ask for her medicine that she has set time to take them. They take forever to answer call lights. Yesterday my aunt pressed the call light to go to the bathroom and came in asked her what she needed and said they would be right back an hour later they still never came back so she had to press the call light again. My aunt is a two person addict and there was one lady in here taking her to the bathroom. The housekeeping sucks as well they used that same rag for the entire bathroom the toilet sink rails everything and didn’t even clean the inside of the toilet they got a new rag for her table but didn’t even clean her entire table. Not to mention the first day she got here they put her oxygen on her but never even turned it on untill me and my mom noticed 4 hours later that her oxygen is off unbelievable

Very professional staff who made us comfortable as we checked my dad into the facility. They made the process as easy as possible.

I want to start with the positive regarding my Mom's recent 4 week stay at the Gaymont. When I voiced my concerns regarding my Mom's care, Kate (admissions) and Ashley (administration) took my concerns seriously. Ashley listened to my Mother and did her best to ensure changes were made. My Mom loved Robin and Kay in rehabilitation, as well as day staff members Anthony and Evan. There were others that were very kind to her as well...apologize for not having their names. There are several members of this staff that are clearly passionate about caring for others, I so appreciate what they did for my Mother. I do not blame the staff at this facility. I believe they forced to adhere to an unreasonable budget, are extremely short staffed and probably underpaid as well. Now for the negative. This is not a 4.9 star facility, 2 at best. The positive reviews are years old and many of them gave '5 star' only and left no comments. I recognized one of the staff members names as leaving one of these reviews. I believe corporate/staff members were instructed to leave '5 Star' reviews to artificially inflate their star status. Call buttons went unanswered for 30-60 minutes, my Mom slept on soiled sheets for 10 days, they changed after I complained. The attendants that changed were rude and upset for having to do so. Mom would make a request for an item and the majority of the time they would forget to bring to her. Food was terrible, overcooked, mushy vegetables, often received the same thing, sometimes twice a day (peanut butter/jelly sandwiches). They are definitely doing a good job at managing food costs. She repeatedly told staff she did not like oatmeal, they brought it to her most days. I imagine anyone that stays here does lose weight, which could be a positive. When she complained one day of being cold they brought her a sheet. A evening staff member wanted to give her a bath on the toilet at midnight and when my Mom told her no she said 'don't yell at me, I am never going to talk to you again.' When she asked for an ice bag for her leg pain another evening staff member said 'do you really need that?' I could go on. When my brother picked her up to take her home last week he said 'you are never going back there, not only because of the treatment received but because of the stench of feces and urine' When my Dad was ill he stayed at a facility in Sandusky that was wonderful and unfortunately no longer in business. Maybe they were not willing to comprise quality care making it no longer profitable forcing them to close. I have been in the hospitality business for almost 40 years. I now have a corporate job and take comments from our guests very seriously, our guests pay my salary. I hope that someone at Providence Heathcare Management takes my comments seriously and takes action, you have unhappy staff members and residents at Gaymont Care and Rehabilitation. I am positive that nobody on your corporate team would put a loved one in this facility.
