I have had the most amazing experience with Canyon Home Care. From my PT to my home nurses. Katie came several times a week to help change my bandages and took great care of me. The bandage change never hurt and she always cleaned me up nice and neat. I highly recommend using their services.

Super grateful for the Canyon hospice team. They were so considerate while caring for my family member and answered all our questions. His home health/hospice nurse even came to our family meeting despite leaving for vacation that night so we could get our questions answered. I knew he was going to be taken care of when his nurse said “I’ve grown fond of [him] so despite not normally taking hospice patients I asked to stay with him through this hard part. He’s a good man and deserves good care.”

Any prospective patient or family that chooses Canyon Home Care after reading this review, and has unfavorable experiences with Canyon Home Care…you have been informed. The subjective information…Amanda (Home Aide) is a phenomenal person and even better Aide. She is polite, professional, courteous, empathetic…all of the positive qualities you would want in an employee. Her communications and timeliness are second to none. Mark (RN) is friendly, professional, competent, timely, efficient and all around exceptional. Unfortunately that is where the positive ends. During the admit, we defined the visit times for home health and home aide. Although the staff was communicative, rarely were the requested times honored. While not a significant problem, visits should be based on the patients needs/requests, not the desire of staff. We needed a lab draw on a weekend, unfortunately the nurse had no knowledge of which lab(s) were open and repeatedly asked the the patient and family for the info. Canyon (Director) failed to take action regarding urinary catheter supplies for my mother…until I contacted her directly. The director stated she would order them and deliver them to my mother. Within 1-2 days, the director delivered the catheter supplies. I was absolutely appalled to find that the catheters which she delivered were literally the least expensive, Chinese “catheters” available on Amazon….and non-sterile….and not the specific catheters that were requested. There are three very significant issues with the “catheters” that the director ordered and delivered: 1 - The “catheters” were non-sterile. Any person who introduces a non-sterile device into their urethra is at very significant risk of a more significant infection. 2 - My mother is on chemo…immunocompromised (Has no ability to fight infection) 3 - The “catheters” that the director ordered & delivered were not actually urinary catheters. She purchased and delivered non-sterile enema tubes. (Pictured in review) I initiated text communications (Pictured in review) with the RN case manager, verbalizing an issue with the catheters and requesting an administration phone call. I received a phone call from the same director on Monday morning. She stated “I understand there were some issues over the weekend and it’s best you switch to another company”, with no further comments or discussion. I asked for the urinary catheters that were requested and the director informed me that the remainder of the order would be the same ones SHE delivered on Friday. I asked why my mother would not be receiving the brand, model and size that was requested. The director stated very matter of fact “I never ordered the ones you asked for, I ordered the ones from Amazon that I already gave you”. Had my mother used the non-sterile enema tubes provided the director of Canyon, my mother would, beyond any reasonable doubt, be admitted to the hospital with a life-threatening bladder, UTI and/or kidney infection from using a non-sterile device which was never intended to be used in the urinary tract. While I wish that our experience with Canyon Home Care had been a positive experience, the above, objective information, in my opinion clearly demonstrates that Canyon has “issues” which poses a risk to patient health, comfort and safety. PS - I spoke with Canyon administration regarding the subjective and objective issues that occurred during our relationship with them. I provided their administration a copy of this review, along with the photos. I informed them that I would refrain from posting the review for a period of 5 days to provide them adequate time to address any issue(s) as they see fit…and that I would gladly speak to any member of their organization regarding this review and the information contained herein. After six days, I have received zero communication from Canyon.

Jessica Anderson with Canyon Home Care was my in-home nurse during my knee replacement recovery. Jessica exceeded my expectations and was with me through an unusually rough recovery. Jessica tailored my medication schedule specific to my needs and updated it as the recovery progressed. For two weeks, Jessica dressed my wounds and maintained constant contact with my surgeon to ensure my treatment plan best benefited me. Not only did Jessica provide the best care possible, she left bandages for me to ensure I had them in her off days to prevent infection. I could not ask for better in-home care!
