I was in this facility for 6 weeks for a broken hip. The only good thing that I can say, was my CNA Christie who was so much help to me. The other thing was my PT Carl & my OT Tracie. I could have not done it without them. They were amazing. And also Bill who sat at the front desk was amazing with the patients. So I give them a 5 Star I think they deserve more than that.

My experience has been less than stellar. I’ll start with the positives - food is better than hospital but could use a up-grade maybe some love. The bright and shining star of the facility is Amy from admissions She always has a smile and a positive attitude. She was a joy to see and speak to hoping she climbs the ladder quickly. The rehab people are excellent and do smile. They do seem to enjoy their job. There were two who unfortunately need to find a new job - they are Kathy and Roberta. These 2 nurses rarely spoke and when and if they did it was not pleasant. Mostly they did not speak. Also I believe on what I and others witnessed that the units are not treated the same. The rehab unit was not invited to the cook out and don’t have favors (treats) afforded to the other unit(s). In reading about them on their website it said they are trained in cpaps, oxygen and bpaps and can provide the same. Not my experience, I had to bring my machine and none of the staff was familiar with how to run it and ended up taking it apart trying to put it on me. I had to call the company to fix it after this. They cannot provide the care needed for anyone with major health conditions. I had to order a medical item from Amazon because they were unable to purchase it. I ended up leaving via ambulance due to inadequate care. On returning to the hospital I was told I had a new infection due to inadequate care as well as other things that needed immediate attention. I had not eaten for 3 days and was extremely nauseous for those days. All in all there were some kind people but they were overshadowed but the rude ones. This facility can only provide minimal care. Do your research.

My mom was in Cadia for a week. I do NOT recommend this rehab facility for your loved one. With the exception of the therapy staff and her evening nurse, Clare, it seemed that nobody cared about their job or the patients. I spent a lot of time there going 3 x a day on some days and spending 2 hours there in the evenings. She would press the button for help and I would watch nurses/aides just walk by her room even though the light was lit up above her door and there was a constant beep. She called from the bathroom for help getting up off the toilet and nobody came. They woke her up at midnight one night to tell her she couldn’t use the bathroom independently (which she already knew) One morning they woke her up at 5 am to see if she wanted to use the bathroom. So they want her to go on their time, not when she needs to go. One evening she asked the aide to have the nurse stop by her room because she was having severe pain in her side. I got there 30 minutes later when a 2nd aide went in the room and had no idea mom wanted a nurse. The nurse finally arrived about 40 minutes after her first request. This is unacceptable care. We moved her to Encompass and absolutely love every staff member there. Everyone is friendly and everyone speaks to her when they enter the room and makes her feel welcome. They respond quickly to her call button. So save your loved one from being neglected and choose somewhere else. I sent an email a few days in to express my concern and I’m still waiting for a response. Shoutout to Clare though - the only bright spot and unfortunately she can’t work 24 hours a day! Update …. The nursing director did reach out to me for more information the day after I posted this. He said he never received my email. Said he checked on my mom every morning. She did not recall him checking in. But I’m glad he followed up on my review.

I highly recommend Cadia Broadmeadow if you need rehabilitation care. They took excellent care of my mother. Every one of the staff were very friendly, caring, professional and attentive to my mother’s care. They were always available to answer all our questions. The facilities were clean and safe. The food was well prepared and delicious. I can’t say enough good things about this facility. Thank you for a wonderful experience and for taking great care of my mother.
