Brunswick Cove Rehab Center exceeded every expectation our family had. The entire staff was truly exceptional. Their kindness and genuine concern never went unnoticed. It gave us tremendous peace of mind knowing that such capable and compassionate professionals were overseeing the care. What stands out most about Brunswick Cove is the heart of the people who work there. They go above and beyond, not because they have to, but because they want to. That level of dedication makes all the difference during what can be a stressful and emotional time. We are deeply grateful for the outstanding care provided and would highly recommend Brunswick Cove Rehab Center to anyone seeking a facility where professionalism, compassion, and excellence come together.

Understaffed and the staff they do have is poorly trained. My family member was there for less than 24 hours in the rehab portion before being given a medication that is unsafe for Parkinson’s patients, and five times the appropriate dose, at that. Staff took zero responsibility for this incident that resulted in my loved one being transported back to the emergency room. When EMS came, the EMT said she herself would be reporting this severe malpractice incident, and stated this is not the first time something like this has happened. Unfortunately this is the typical nursing home and rehab clinic-dirty, old, understaffed, and under trained. I would not send a loved one here again.

My father was here for a little over three months before he passed. The facility is a little bit older, but I found the staff to be attentive and caring, and to go out of their way to get him involved in activities. I was able to come there 3 to 4 times a week. He was bathed or given a sponge bath most days.

We are very grateful for the care my mother-in-law got at Brunswick Cove in 2024 (she died Jan 2025 at 97 years old). She had been at another facility in Wilmington that was 'fancier' but the care was horrific and she fell out of bed 5 times, the last time breaking her hip. I called Alice, the director, on a Sunday afternoon trying to move her after the hip break....and when the other facility raised their costs by more than 50% with no notice. We needed to find somewhere else quickly and by Tuesday my MIL was settled in at Brunswick Cove. Alice made all the arrangements for the move and sent their shuttle to get her. The staff is caring and competent. The room was ALWAYS clean and there was never a fowl odor in her room (there always was at the other fancy facility in Wilmington). Her room was bright and cheerful with natural light. Because she was immobile the staff made an extra effort to make sure her TV was on whatever channel she wanted to watch. They were super friendly with her and called her numerous nicknames. Most important they communicated with us frequently about her condition (and someone always answered the phone!) and as she declined they eventually suggested Hospice. We would not hesitate to recommend Brunswick Cove for caring and competent care for the aging. Bruce and Pat Holsten, Wilmington, NC

Alice the director at Brunswick Cove has bent over backwards to get my mother to the facility to begin her short term rehab. She coordinated the move from a town 3 hours away and also helped us get out of the local hospital after the need for evaluation from her hip surgery. The staff has been very attentive and friendly and good at communicating all the details that come with staying in such a facility. It’s only been 3 days but I feel like we’ve been treated like family.
