Bruceville Terrace – Dignity Health – Methodist Hospital of Sacramento is a fully accredited skilled nursing facility that has served the Sacramento community since 1989. The facility cares for about 800 residents each year, including individuals who need long-term nursing care as well as those requiring short-term medical supervision while recovering from an illness, injury or surgery. Bruceville Terrace is licensed to house 171 residents for short-term rehabilitation.

The care team focuses on the medical, emotional and social needs of residents and families, supporting rehabilitation, nutrition, pain management, recreational activities and overall well-being. Services include 24/7 skilled nursing care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, IV therapies (such as antibiotic and electrolyte infusions), specialized wound care, and compassionate end-of-life care focused on comfort and symptom relief. Chaplain services and respite care for caregivers are also offered.

Rehabilitation therapy is tailored to each resident's needs, with a team of nurses, physical and occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists developing individualized care plans. Because the pace at a skilled nursing facility is generally less intense than at an inpatient rehab facility, therapists typically work with residents for one to two hours each day. On average, short-term residents stay about 18 days, while long-term residents stay about one year; roughly 60 percent of residents leave to return home or move to a facility offering a lower level of care.

Bruceville Terrace maintains three gyms dedicated to physical therapy and rehabilitation, and the grounds include beautifully landscaped courtyards intended to create a home-like, comfortable environment. Meals are planned with attention to personal preference and special dietary needs, and residents take part in menu selection along with receiving nutrition therapy as needed. A spacious dining room is available to all residents, and a private dining room can be used for family celebrations.

A full-time activities staff organizes daily programs such as crafts, games, classes and special celebrations, while also encouraging residents to pursue their own interests and hobbies. Families are considered a key part of the care team, and the facility provides education about ongoing care as well as training for when a loved one returns home.
