The staff is nice, the food is good, BUT if your loved one is there for rehab you might be disappointed. We’ve got two family members in this facility currently following their hospital stays, and both of them have been allowed to skip their physical therapy (and one of them decided to not eat for a few days) without the family being alerted. To say I was livid to find this out is an understatement! As the family, we take care of them in their separate homes and they have to get better so that they are able to go back home. How are they going to get stronger if they’re allowed to lay around for weeks and no one is enforcing their therapy? That’s not safe at all!

The facility and the staff are wonderful. My mother went there after having surgery for a broken hip. I am so thankful that Brookridge had an opening. The entire staff has been very helpful, knowledgeable, attentive to my mother's needs and very caring. Overall, a wonderful experience from a bad situation. We were there for about a month.

My father had SNF rehab at Brookridge for 3 weeks following hip surgery. Some of the therapists were good, but we had a negative experience with the nursing team on multiple occasions. The most egregious instance came on 3/16/26. Normally, my mother would visit during the day to monitor things, but she couldn't come that day due to severe weather (including a tornado warning). When it was safe to do so, I drove out there to briefly visit, arriving at 6:15 pm. I was negatively surprised to see my father lying in bed with all the post-surgery precautions from the surgeon being ignored, as well as the wound care protocol. My father, who has dementia and can't always remember or advocate for himself, was supposed to be wearing certain medical devices to prevent hip dislocation and prevent worsening of a foot wound that developed in the facility. I found him left in bed without anything. I went into the hall to speak to someone, and hardly any staff members were there, except for one: a short, older blonde haired lady whose badge read "Cathy Denton", as I recall. She was looking at her smartphone at the desk and didn't appear busy. I showed her that the medical devices had been left loose in the room instead of being put on my father, and she came into the room and quickly put on the first device for the legs (post-op precaution) without apologizing or explaining why it hadn't already been done. Afterwards, I remembered the heel protectors ordered by the wound doctor hadn't been put on either, and when I showed Cathy, she got really angry and started raising her voice at me in a rude and completely unacceptable manner. She accused me of not "giving her enough time", even though it was 6:30 pm and she works day shift, not evening. She also rudely snapped, "I KNOW HOW TO DO MY JOB!", even though I had not suggested the contrary (as I didn't know which staff member had dropped the ball; perhaps it wasn't her). I later found out she was a nurse and not the CNA, so why didn't she explain that to me instead of lash out? I didn't know, and frankly, there weren't any other staff members around at that time. I figured that if this was how they were going to treat me, even though I had maintained a polite tone, then I couldn't entrust them with caring for my father any further. To make matters worse, two days later before we had him discharged, another nurse, Mia, told us that Cathy had not applied a certain foot bandage properly. Mia fixed it. (So much for the expertise of the one who snapped, "I KNOW HOW TO DO MY JOB!") I'm giving Brookridge rehab 2 stars because some of the therapists were good (shout out to Louise!), but therapists only work with patients 5 hours a week. The other 163 hours, patients are at the mercy of the nursing team.

My father came to Brookridge for rehabilitation in the skilled nursing facility. I can’t speak highly enough about the team at Brookridge. My parents have felt genuinely loved and cared for here. Quite literally every person on the staff that I’ve encountered has gone out of their way to be helpful. They’ve made sure that the furniture is comfortable for my mom, and they’ve allowed us to decorate their room with personal items to make it feel more like home. We’re leaving tomorrow, but the weeks that my family has been here have been made so much easier by the Brookridge team. My family is grateful for such quality of personal care.

Went to visit a friend at this lovely retirement home, nestled in the woods near Wake Forest University. It is very serene and spacious grounds. They offer individual homes, condos, as well as assisted living care. The entire staff is very friendly and welcoming and treat everyone with respect. The front lobby of the main building always has a receptionist to assist you. This gated community is a hidden secret and you can catch does and deers as you walk around d the property’s. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking to downsize and lived more relaxed.
