In the first place, it's clear that now that most of the units are filled, the HOA doesn't give half a care for its residents.
We helped my mother move in here because of their flowery promises to always ensure shoveled snow, mowed lawns, trimmed trees, home repairs...

What a CROCK!

Aside from the fact that snow is rarely shoveled/plowed in any reasonable time, or the fact that my mother's residence hasn't had a working back door lock (yes, her home is open 24/7 because of a bad door hang), I asked Bridlewood management to trim the trees in front of her home in March, just before Covid hit. I was told "they'll be out this week, they're running late."

I visited my mother in August and find they haven't touched the trees.
Not only is it dark/dismal inside her home due to angle of the sun, but she also cannot see off her porch.
She has reported her deadbolt not working since the day she moved in, and it is STILL not repaired.

Their clubhouse is locked due to covid, while other leisurevilla properties are fully open. The policies at Bridlewood are not aligned with what Leisure Villas states on their website.

Here's the thing; residents are paying 200-400 a month for services they're not receiving. Ask about a refund on a portion of the HOA fees, and you're met with hostility, derision, and nastiness.

My insurance company has given me a massive discount during Covid, because I'm not driving to work. How is it they can do this, but Leisure Villas can't, even though they're not paying people to trim trees, do warranty repairs, or properly manage their properties?

What a great scam. It's also in direct conflict with § 57-8a-101.

I smell legal action coming.
